As Microsoft's Boris Schneider-Johne put it, "one down, two to go". Microsoft is probably very happy to get its grubby mitts on the likes of Devil May Cry 4, but two of Sony's major exclusives -- Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid 4 -- remain unclaimed. Of course, both games have had their share of rumors stating otherwise. Enter a recent issue of the Australian Playstation Magazine, which contained an interview with Square Enix director, Motomu Toriyama. In particular, one quote has made it around the internet in record time: "... in terms of formats we're reaching ... it's not simply exclusive to the PS3 and mobile phones." It's easy to read this quote and assume Toriyama is referring to the imminent arrival of Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360, but that's making quite a leap. Final Fantasy games have all enjoyed success on multiple platforms, ranging from the DS to upcoming PSP ports to even the Gamecube. It's just as likely that Toriyama is referring to the DS, Wii, PSP, or even another movie. Furthermore, he could easily be talking about spin-off titles and not Final Fantasy XIII itself. Hell, Final Fantasy XIII is already set to have three titles (Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and Final Fantasy Agito XIII).In other words, don't expect Final Fantasy XIII to jump ship anytime soon. It's still possible of course, but Toriyama's comments are not confirmation of a 360 version.

Could this just be a follow up of the Crystal Chronicals?

Crystal Chronicles is already getting sequels on Wii and DS. He could be referring to that.
There's been an image making its way around, though, that shows this diagram of the XIII-related products and where they're headed. Two of the circles are currently empty.
Personally, I think it would be smart to port XIII over, at least for audiences outside of Japan. The White Engine is multi-platform, so it's not like it would be impossible.

I can not wait to play Versus...regardless of system. I know nothing about Agito and FF 13 is just meh at this point.
But please bring it over Squaresoft, because enchanted arms is not a suitable replacement.

They really make it complicated With all these FF rls's..... Also they probly announce after the rls if it's coming to the 360 making it a Timed exclusive... I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping this is the case for MGS....

Personally I see the Wii, PSP and DS getting Crystalis titles rather than the 360. Which is a shame, but there's always hope of a 360 port if the PS3 version bombs.

He can't be talking about the Crystal Chronicles titles. He said that Final Fantasy XIII isn't exclusive, not that the Final Fantasy Series isn't exclusive - it already isn't. So he means something branded Final Fantasy XIII is coming to the Wii, 360 or DS, which doesn't mean the main game per say, but it means the main game or one of the spin offs for sure.

Mr. Richard Mitchell,
Please, give me your keys, you aren't going anywhere, because you clearly have been drinking too much!
There is absolutely no doubt Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy 13 Versus, and another Final Fantasy game made exclusively for Xbox 360 and PC Games for Windows will be made!
All of the rumors have been saying things similar to that, and those rumor sources are the same people who said those exact same things about Assassins Creed, Unreal 3, Mercs 2, VF5, Devil May Cry 4, and others.
The rumors are now saying Final Fantasy 13 and Metal Gear Solid 4 are in development for Xbox 360 right now, but the developers aren't allowed to say so.
Now, where are those keys!
