What is up with the sensationalist headline? The hack relies on the vulnerable kernels so this really doesn't threaten anyone, you can't take the system on Xbox Live so I guess we should "...just forget about it and go back to playing some video games."

It's not even news. Everyone knows that Linux people won't be happy until it's on every cellphone, digital watch, and cochlear implant on the planet.
Leave that crap to slashdot.

Super! sounds class. One question, Can you dual boot with this option? What i mean is can i boot into the xbox 360 Dashboard (default) play games etc then execute linux kernel (without restarting)
or would it be permanently linuxed? or could it be set up to boot from the HDD? whatever it is, Linux rules!!

I don't see how people can be against modding the 360. It is good to use hardware for something other than the narrow, closed functionality that the manufacturer deems appropriate. We should be able to do whatever we want with technology we paid for because consumer tech isn't going to get anywhere really interesting until it is developed with an open mindset.
