After having had a few days to delve deep into the demo for GRAW 2's multiplayer, we don't feel that it has made the same steps forward as the single player has. We're still stuck with no cover system, but we do get the new full screen cross-com by holding down the right bumper. The Co-Op missions are a lot of fun, and the ability to invite friends to games in a demo is really nice, but the user interface is more or less identical to the previous version. Sure, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but GRAW's UI wasn't exactly perfect. The graphics in multiplayer did however look closer to the caliber of the single player, but their still is a noticeable difference between the two. With the game having gone gold recently, it looks like we won't have long to find out how the retail version is. What did you think of the demo? Does it make you want to buy GRAW 2, or do you pretty much have to because "everyone else" is?

I was not that impressed with the multiplayer demo either. I reviewed both of the demos briefly on my blog (http://preview.tinyurl.com/2y7mqe) and both of them have their issues.

I already posted this, but it's more responsive to this topic:
KilgoreTrout's Wednesday Night GRAW 2 session:
1. Entered into 3 consecutive Team elimination lobbies.
2. As soon as the three games began, I propmtly recieve a "Disconnected from server" message.
3. Fourth time is a charm- I get into a 4 on 4 battle, and have an extremely enjoyable and lag free time. The new weapons are a joy, and the drone doesn't move as if it's swimming in molasses.
4. Two more lobbies, two more "Disconnected from server" messages when the game begins. Kilgore becomes ensaddened.
5. Success! I get into a game, and have a great 5 on 5 battle (we got our asses kicked, but hey- it was still fun).
6. I call it a night.
Brings back memories, doesn't it?
Yep. It's pretty much playing GRAW all over again. When you (finally) get in a match, it's an undeniably excellent game, and the new respawn system is very promising.

I thought the Multiplayer demo was amazing.
There's a lot of fun there, but I don't think I'd pick it up unless it's used, the price drops or whatever.

For whatever reason, GRAW just doesnt excite me anymore. I think its the whole futuristic weapon angle the game has. And why does every 360 game have to look like its sunset, and you just woke up from a 3 day sleep and your eyes haven't adjusted yet???
I also dont like the 3x fast forward running in multiplayer... it feels and looks weird.
GRAW was a great launch game for the 360, but the whole futuristic put-a-triangle-or-glowing-outline-on-everything-that-moves annoys me.
I'll stick to modern warfare games i think.

Would you guys shut the f*ck up. I just about threw my morning coffee at the wall reading this stupid post. Im sick of your b*tching about no cover system for multiplayer. It ruined RS:V's multiplayer, thank god it hasn't tainted the Ghost Recon series yet.
All it did for RS:V is give campers an unfair advantage over other players, and help noobs like yourselves get kills.
First We lost the splinter cell multiplayer to the noobs earlier last year with its one gamemode and simplified rules, then we lost RS:V with that damn cover system. GRAW is the last Tom Clancy game that hasn't gone completely noob, and you guys want to bash it?? F*ck this blog.
Keep up with this sort of feedback, and we will get a GRAW3 that has one game mode, 3 maps, and a 2 hour tutorial that teaches you how to aim a gun with the analog stick, along with a brand new cover system that makes you invincible, and gives you unlimited ammo.

LOL! I agree with Logan, at least on the cover part (I still love you, XB360F). While I appreciate the cover system in most games, I think that they should leave GR where it's at. Leaning/peeking works just fine, and I see no reason to change it. I love the MP demo, and I'll be picking up the game day one.

Threw your coffee at the wall over someone's opinion? Anger management son.
Most of the games you mentioned have been hype for a long time. The original rb6 games maybe up till three were decent. Vegas put a new spin on it that works and it sounds like you get your ass beat every time you log on. In the real world people don't stand in the middle of hallways shooting at each other. Tatical shooting doesn't involve rushing.
In the real world people take advantage of bottlenecks where they can. It's not some conspiracy to prove you suck at gaming. You just do. Now get over it and make another cup of coffee.

Why all of the complaining abut how it "isn't different enough?" Please pay attention to the entire development history for the GR series and notice that this falls well within a very established pattern. GR has always gone in 2 game cycles before major changes were made.
GR and GR: Island Thunder = the same
GR2 and GR2: Summit Strike = the same
GRAW and GRAW2 = the same
In fact, one could argue that there are more differences between GRAW and GRAW2 than has been done before in the series.
All of you complainers: If the game doesn't sufficiently change for the next iteration of the series, then you will have room to open your pie holes. Until then, you are not cool for wanting differences just to have differences. If GRAW sucked, I might be there with you, but it didn't, and so long as GRAW2 is as good as GRAW, I, and many others, will be completely satisfied.

This demo is broken. I tried for 45 minutes last night to play ONE round with my friends, and not one of our attempts ended up with all of us in a problem-free experience. The two biggest issues were either:
1) No sound, other than ambient noise. No movement noise, gun noise, mission briefing, enemy sound.
2) Incredible lag/jerking any time you tried to move. You could stand there with no problem, but as soon as you went to move, the game would lag out, and you'd jump 50 feet ahead repetitively until you hit a wall or something, even if you'd let go of the movement stick minutes before.
I don't know how broken-ass shit like that got on Marketplace, but if the game itself is that buggy, Ubisoft can take a flying fuck at a rolling donut.

Yeah sorry for being an ass. That last post was just rude. In all seriousness, I've heard X360FB complain about GRAW's lack of cover system at least 3 times now, and this time I lost it.
Having played every Tom Clancy game published, it's hard to watch your favorite series turn from a great hardcore tactical experience into an all out noobfest, and then to go to your favorite gaming blog and hear them promoting this transformation.
You guys make angry sometimes, but I forgive you.

Viridium- I had connection issues, but they were strictly the old GRAW problem type (A host tries to start a 16 person game, and everyone gets booted as soon as it starts.)
Once I got into a game, it was lag free.
You should it another shot, or try hosting your own game.

Here's a tidbit for you: I don't care about the lack of a cover system. I did, however, ask the other bloggers what they thought, and that came up, so I put it in the post.
I will say this about GRAW:
GRAW was the second Third/First person shooter to implement a cover system, the first of course being Perfect Dark Zero. The only caveat about GRAW's cover system is that it was only in the single player campaign. I guess the biggest gripe with people is how it has essentially two control types in one game where you do basically the same thing. I dunno. Still, I really enjoyed the demo and will probably still pick up the game.
Satisfied?

@KilgoreTrout XL
That really isn't a glitch it has more to do with the host trying to host more people in a room.
When I host a room the game recommends that I do 8 people. I will bump it up to 10 and it holds fine without any drops.
I have played with host that bump this number to 12 - 14 and it will cause players to drop out at the beginning of the round every time.
If you are playing in your friends room and you drop out ask him to drop the room down by 2 players.

To above poster - then why do they say it GRAW2 supports 16 in MP? I also had drops and lag with the demo. This was only with 8-9 players.
This reminded me of how it was in GRAW multiplayer. Suffering through drops. Has me reconsidering my pre-order, but I also enjoy the SP game. I'm hoping MP on the full version works better than the demo and GRAW1

I played with a group of friends that normally all play COD3 together. We played for 4 hours or so. I like the look an feel of the game. However, I felt the response of the game to the controls was sluggish. Not sure if it was just the way the default is calibrated or if the sort of "slow acceleration" type of response you get is just the way it is. I just took too long to turn the character around, and to get up to speed running etc. Hopefully it will get a lot punchier in the final release.
After switching back to COD3 the slow reaction time was even more noticeable.

KilgoreTrout XL - We tried games for 45 minutes. I rebooted my router. Of the 6 of us trying, 4 of us attempting hosting and people still had problems (never the host themselves, though).
We went right from that into some multiplayer Gears of War and had no issues at all - so I find it very hard to believe that it was hosting or someone's internet that was at fault.

I don't plan on buying it. GR games lost their fun for me after GRIT. I've tried them all up to GRAW but found myself more than a little disappointed with it.
Maybe I'll shell out for the R6V maps to tide me over until Forza.
