After a one week vacation, the world of Xbox 360 releases has returned, and no triumphant return would be complete without gifts. This week's gift isn't some crappy t-shirt hastily purchased at an airport gift shop either. No, this week is a doozy. It's a general policy that we like to have at least three titles to merit a bulleted list, but this week is special. It's the first game of the new year and it's a pretty big game to boot. As such, we present you with the combined North American/European shipping list for the week of January 8.
Shipping this week in North America and Europe:
- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
So, who's picking up Lost Planet?

Well for the last couble of weeks in Xbox Land is has SUCKED. You might say that I'm ungrateful but I say when you own a system as GREAT as this you just expect more!! We have had no nEW games since RB Six: Vegas and a total of 2 REAL crappy XBLA games and one week of no show!! This week on the other hand is GREAT, 2 NEW free maps for GoW(and both a FREE) and Lost Planet!! AWSOME!! Though if I were a betting man, I would say expect nothing again for Wed. because of the NEW GoW maps!!

I don't know why people are excited about Lost Planet.I think people literally just force themselves to be ecstatic about releases like this in order to fill some sort of void in their lives.
The graphics are so-so... I remember killing one of the aliens in the demo and the animation was so horribly cheesy -- like watching the pieces sping and disappear in Hexic... The gameplay was same old run around, shoot at x, get into vehicle y, blah blah blah... Oh and there's one whole environment, snowy wasteland! Sweet! Awesome! w00t!
When I watched that trailer for the game I literally burst out laughing when that dramatic choir started chanting as if we were watching Dante's Inferno unfold.
Page me when a game comes along that actually makes the player use their head instead of pointing and clicking, please...

God forbid people get excited about a game that doesn't interest you. What were they thinking?

The XBOX 360 is an amazing system, but god I hope this year is better than last with a more consistent release of games instead of once and a while.

I agree, I think Lost Planet will suck major ass....someone said that they didn't want a trudging through snow simulator (LP) I thought they nailed it saying that.....very uninspiring game....I actually picked up Kameo again, still haven't finished it.....great game though!!!

THANK YOU!!! I felt like I was in the same boat too.
And AnOffday: I can't speak for marty on this one, but in my case, Lost Planet on paper, is completely up my alley. It's just a pretty shooter.
the thing that bugs me about every Lost Planet demo I've played is how incredibly lackluster it is. It's beautiful, am not gonna deny that. But there is just something so... archaic about it. I mean... shoot the giant creature in the yellow area. that's right back to the contra days.
I know how you can take any game and boil it back to the olden days, but Lost Planet (again, from what I've played) just seems to be so derivative, and bogged down by narrow ideas that makes one wonder what the fuss is all about.
