We received a nice deal for all of our UK readers today. Great Universal is apparently having a promotion where any £45 purchase receives a £20 discount. As fate would have it, the Xbox 360 wireless adapter happens to cost exactly £45. The offer comes via Hot UK Deals, which also provided us with our most recent UK deal, so we imagine the offer is legit. All that is required is a £45 purchase and the application of a discount code (D9) at checkout. Of course, there is a small caveat: it may take as long as 7 weeks to ship. Still, the savings are fairly substantial if you have the patience.If any UK readers give this a try, let us know how it went.

Why are people buying this product in the first place? You can use any generic wireless bridge, gaming adapter (just a bridge anyway) or even a powerline bridge. There are many products available for under $50.

Maybe in the states they're < $50.
Here in the UK wireless bridges start at £45 (about $80), and they're the cheap no-name ones.

That's what I thought. For months, I suffered awful connection signal and it would only connect on rare occasions. Then, I finally purchased an official one from ebay. Since then, Xbox Live connection has been perfect, with excellent signal strength and it connects 100% of the time. Also, the official one does not require another plug so know my speaker system can be plugged in! It's also tiny, absent of wires and it looks good!

yeah but it'd be really fucking annoying having an outlet plug taken up by something. usb power is much easier. plus it's all streamlined and color coordinating.

The adapters in the UK are expensive. It is a shame that no one will create more USB adapters. Or maybe Microsoft should just drop the price on the WI-FI adapter.
HMV and Game are doing the same offer on any official Microsoft accessory when you buy a game which is more than £39.99 which is only available in store as far as I am aware.
