Remember, you might have to hoof it quite a ways, though, as there are only 19 Micro Center locations in the US. Our advice: make a detour (or twelve) on your way to grandma's house for the holidays.

I work at microcenter. If you apply for a credit card you get $200 off any purchase over 400. So essentially if you apply for a credit card and with the $100 rebate the premium 360 is $100.

I did this deal on Black Friday. A couple of store employees assured me that this deal was legit and would go through so I guess we'll see.
Basically, when you get your first statement you use the information on the statement to log on to the credit card's website and redeem the points in the form of a $100 check.

Stephen,
The purchase goes on to the Microcenter credit card ($399.99 + tax). The $100 rebate will take 8-12 weeks. Figure at least another 6 weeks to get the $100 for the redeemable points.
The good thing is that the Microcenter credit card is six months no interest (unless I'm mistaken...saw it in the store).

applying for the credit card and purchasing $400 get you $100 off or $200 of (as stated by #3)? if the refund is only $100 off, that would further prove my earlier post about microcenter employees not knowing anything at all. If it really is $200, that's an insane deal!

overstock.com has a 12% off coupon. you just need to add a non-media item to your basket along with your purchase. i just got a 360 premium with a non media item for $345. No waiting on rebates, no sales tax, $2 shipping, and no signing up for a useless credit card.

Having another credit card is not worth the $100 =)

Yea but if you pay it off right away and never use it again it's no big deal. I won't turn down an extra $100.

You can actually get the Xbox 360 Premium for free if you combine this deal with another deal the store is offering: $200 off any purchase of $199 or more if you sign up for a year of Vonage. You can see confirmation of the deal in the middle of the front page of their circular: http://www.microcenter.com/specials/index.html

ditto on #11 - I got my 360 - with the $200 off in rebates - and was offered another $200 for signing up on Vonage.
Don't know what the author implied with "trickery" or "we don't have confirmation that this will work.." unless he's been living under a rock - this deal has been all over the net for the past few weeks..

Just picked one up tonight and the deal is only $100 if you sign up for the card (not that big of a deal, pay it off and then cancel it). Add in the $100 for the rebate and I grabbed a premium system for $200. Pretty good deal and will make a very good present for my brother.

I considered getting the core to go with my premium. I already have 3 wireless controllers and bought an extra set of HD cables at Gamestop for $5. Only thing missing is the hard drive, and they go for $80 on eBay. But with a required $399 purchase, I may as well get the Premium. Oh well.

I bought a Pro 360 a few weeks ago at Future Shop for $450 Canadian ($400 US), with Arcade #1, Ghost Recon AW, Gears of War & Ridge Racer 6 included. How are retailers able to discount the 360 so deeply? It's selling for 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the PS3 already.

Does anyone know how much the Vonage thing is? For 200$ off, if the subscription is within a reasonable price, it would be way worth the trick. Also, whats the deal with the 200$ off of purchases of 400$ or more with the card? I'm kind of confused about whether or not that is actually legitimate. Thanks.

2 things you need to do. When you get to store sign up for their credit card. Approve you on the spot. You purchase the x-box 360 with their credit card. You then do the online rebate for the first $100 and then when the bill comes in you go to the website they give to redeem the 13,000 points for the 2nd $100. As was told by a store employee. Don't know anything about the Vonage deal. But to get a premium 360 for $200 and save $200 is a sweet deal.
