Xbox 360 Fanboy

Depending on how much effect it actually has I like the idea of improved voice chat. Having voices get clearer is always a good thing.

i hope that you can change the color of text now (for dark themes it would be nice to have white texts)

These are a few of the new updates I'm really looking foward to: (* = important, ** = very important)

**Optionally disable notifications from Xbox Live while watching DVD movies.

*Added time elapsed and time remaining displays.

**Improved UI performance in Media Center Extender (Hoping the UI isn't sluggush anymore)

*Removed system message at the start of new downloads. Messages will be displayed for completed items.

*Now shares UI and player controls with DVD player.

*Added skip controls (forward approx. 30 seconds, back approx. 7 seconds).

Voice communication on the Xbox 360 is emulated over from the original Xbox, so it doesn't sound as great and clear as it did on the original Xbox. I also hope this update improves the voice chat to a point where it matches the original Xbox's voice chat capability.

Three words: "Does Not Expire"

Maybe I've just missed it this entire time, but when I went to watch a few videos this morning as a test, I noticed in the dashboard that they were all labeled "Does Not Expire." That implies that some videos WILL expire. Why would they want to do something like that... rental? I haven't seen this "feature" mentioned anywhere else yet.

the gears theme is still hard to read.

btw:
what the heck are "viral-videos"(in the video section)?

@7, "viral videos" is a term used to catagorize videos like the ones found on youtube. Your know user created videos.

I like the dash board update. But there is one problem i see! why is there no folder structure for the videos section for portable devices. I have a 40gb HD attached. It containes over 50 videos I dont want to have to search threw them to get my videos.

Poster #8...

You asked and answered your own question. You want the 360 to sort your HDD...YOU SORT YOUR HDD. Make the folders and when you plug it in, the 360 will load the folders.

Just stuck a DVD in with some WMV movies on, and half of them dont play - the dash just shows some obscure errors about unsupported formats. Not a good start :(

this is the reason I had to stop using the Battlestar Galactica theme...everything was unreadable

My one request when they were asking for them was fulfilled... arcade games now count up near instantly, in both menus. It would constantly lag before, which just really annoyed me. I'm glad that's taken care of.
