Major Nelson is on the road at the present time, so his regular show is an on-the-run collection of interviews with the folks behind Madden 07. Is there a football-obsessed soul out there planning on paying for this pay-per-view special they're talking about?

I want to say that paying to see the game in advance is crazy, but when i think back to Halo 2's release I was so nuts I would have bought anything. I guess there are equally crazy Madden fanboys out there.

I'm amazed you write for a video game blog, yet have never met a madden fanboy...

They're charging for what should be a free download on XBL. People will inexplicably pay for it, encouraging other publishers to follow suit.
Hell, a portion of the show will be a bunch of contest winners playing madden against each other. I've had more fun in car accidents.

Will things like this push for more content on XBL to be pay for instead of free? It seems so, I'll stick to Bittorrent and Youtube for things like this...
