Sony's Ken Kutaragi, whose last name means "PS2 graphics like Toy Story" in Japanese, was up to his old tricks at the Playstation Business Briefing in Tokyo. Not to be outdone when it comes to confusing, poorly chosen buzzwords, the hype-happy Sony Computer Entertainment President claimed that PS3 games are "live" and that the Playstation Network Platform concept is "4D":

Hmmm...Live. Where have we heard that lovely market-tested word before? The Xbox developement teams delivers the smack down with the smarmy incisiveness of a pre-Tommy Boy David Spade:
Kutaragi-san, games have been "Live" since 2002. Please find your own buzzword, kthx.
As for "4D," I can't process that term without thinking of "Smell-O-Vision" and those 3D movies at the amusement park where they spray water in your face. Maybe I'll understand what the hell Ken is talking about once I purchase these REAL PS3 4D GLASSES off Ebay.

I'm a 360 Owner and Not a Sony Fanboy. But the Fact is that 1 year of Technology is HUGE!
That is why the XBox is more powerful than the PS2.
The PS3 will be More Powerful than the 360 PERIOD.
There is no Debate. It is a Technological Fact of Life.
But the Competition makes it better for All of Us.

So, let's see. The PS3 is going to be an Xbox clone that looks like a generic piece of A/V equipment, with (maybe) slightly better graphics performance, bigger HDD, and higher price point?
And this is WITH Sony's notoriously rosy press speaches? God, I'm glad I waited in line at my local Best Buy instead of holding out for PS3!

Howver...I wont judge the PS3 until I can see some REAL in game play, which should happen around 2008.

Seriously though, I can't take much more of the 12 year olds telling all the Xbox and Ninty fans that our consoles aren't "next-gen". Nevermind the fact that spec wise, it's been long known that the PS3 is pretty much on par with the 360 with only a slight edge in CPU performance. Nevermind the fact that developers have time and time again said that the 360 is easier to develop for and that the PS3 doens't have too much more under it's hood. Let's also totaly disregard the fact that Sony is the biggest hype machine the planet has ever seen. Everyone must bow to the almighty PS3 or it will consume you in an eternal fire and damn your last-gen soul to gaming hell... Playing N-Gage. *Goes and cries in the corner*
