My condolences to tha family but I am wondering how the kid died. Did he just try to bear the elemnets and wilderness.
I have no idea what Fifth Line is. Is that some kind of street?

This is what happens when parents use gaming consoles as baby sitters, they let the kid play their hearts out till the parents decide to control when its too late.

besides, helping the kid pack their runnaway bag is nothing more but challenging the kid to actually leave.

Wow. The parents should be giving him limits to the game. But no, of course they would watch him play it all day long and just talk to each other about it. When it finally gets serious that act like fucking 6 year olds. Who packs the kids bags for him? If you thought he really wasn't going to do it you shouldn't have ignored him. Horrible parents, just horrible.

I really agree with omni... Its basically society that has cast video games into dark corners where children shouldn't be. Video games are only seen as a hobby and should not be continued beyond a certain age. However, we must learn to accept video games as a sport or profession. This should have never happened, and i feel for the child as well. I also had parents who were very controlling and went as far as breaking my nintendo 64 and ps2 in my face. From this experience i will learn that as a father know I will support my kid if he wants to play video games. There is always a balance that must be found. Obviously, these parents did not have it.

This is exactly whats wrong with parents today when i was a kid my parents were glad i was on the floor in front of the nes and not out getting into trouble.They should have been happy with he fact that they knew where there kid was now im sure they regret there decision.

This is a lesson for all parent if your kid wants to stay in and play games leave them alone.

For people who are having a console war or making jokes about the situation, fuck off, and keep your thoughts to yourself.

I don't think the parents are at fault for what happened, most other kids would've bluffed in that situation...

Also i doubt it was just an "addiction" that was the cause of him running away, there was definitely more to it, probably problems in school, or arguments with friends etc. Being 15 as well, i know high school can be pretty rough at times, and that after going through shit with people at school i wouldn't want to come home to my parents saying im addicted to my xbox and taking it away... So what i'm saying is that his parents taking away his 360 was probably just fuel to the fire, and it just pushed him to the edge.

Obviously that's a guess, but i'm just saying, don't limit the story to "ooo the kid had an addiction and his parents shuoldve tried to fix it", cause there's only so much kids reveal to their parents about whats going on in their lives, and we really dont know everything that was going on in his life =(

To the Brandon Crisp family, saddened by your loss. Praying and hoping you'll all find a way to get through this whole ordeal. No parent should have the weight of something like this on their shoulders.

Nothing like thinning out the gene pool. My condolences go out to his parents, but I'm not sad that this kid is dead. A whiny, spoiled brat who won't spread his seed...no problem here. Honestly, all these idiot kids killing themselves over GAMES, just makes me hope for the future...cause they won't be a part of it. Man, I know this sounds harsh. But I'm sick of idiotic kids making the gaming community on a whole look bad. Man, I had an NES and a SNES, and I had to buy those with my own money and when my parents told me I had played enough and that I should do my homework, go to bed or go outside and play...I freakin' did it. You know why? Cause I could always play another day. So long spoiled brat, you would have been another cancer on the world community.

i don't think microsoft offering a reward is vile... I mean it's likely the press will some how blame the 360/ microsoft for the boys disaperance/death. I mean he's gaming habit lead him to argue with his parents and then run away, it's all microsofts fault, right?

clearly not. Sucks the kid ran away and well died, i heard there seems to be no fowl play in the boys death.

I don't want to judge but I hate that video games gets blamed for things like this. If the kid left because of an argument with his parents and was able to take off then got into something that got him killed there was much more going on then video games. I feel sorrow for their family but it is a sign that we need to spend more time with our kids and building relationships with our kids not hoping that other people will fix them for us.

My heart goes out to the Crisp family. They are excellent parents, with the best intentions, but the mind of a 15 year can be very irrational.
I went through this stage with my son and it is only luck that determines if your child will remain safe. Don't punish yourself, just remember all the good things about Brandon.
