In our continuing effort to bring you fresh and interesting content, X3F presents Would You Rather ... a weekly feature that asks you the hard questions. The point? If you had to choose one or the other, which would you go for?
Grand Theft Auto IV. Maybe you've heard of it. The title that has the gaming world in a frenzy is days away and we've decided to pull a WUR out of our hat in celebration. Read this one carefully.
Let's say for the first 24 hours you owned Grand Theft Auto IV you were only able to play either single-player or multiplayer. Which one would you spend that first day with? Enough of this "neither" or "both" nonsense kids, we're going for broke. Which one is captivating your attention in that first 24 hours?
Feel free to share the reasons for your vote in the comments. We'll share the results of the poll during the next edition of Would You Rather ... which hits X3F every Wednesday.
Last weeks WUR results can be find after the jump ... hop to it!

Last week. Well, look at it. No contest. While most people agree they'd rather do neither, the majority of the readers who entered the poll decided that cycling through marketing programs was the lesser of two evils when it came to grabbing new weapons for Battlefield: Bad Company. We didn't vote, we forgot to register at our nearest polling station!

Sparkla isn't down for GTA, even if the MP is good. She's all about the COD4 until Gears 2. Good luck with yours.

I'm actually kinda bummed that this game has multiplayer, I have many games with lackluster multiplayer that I have completed 100% of the single player stuff but am lacking the multiplayer achievements, many of which are impossible to get seeing as there aren't people online anymore (I'm looking at you saints row) Hopefully the multiplayer is good, but not even on my list of reasons to get this game.

It's all about the workings of the multiplayer. If there's a good matchmaking system, I may well go there first. If all we're getting is Quake 1-era server browser lists, like so many other games, not only will I go to single player first, but I'll never even touch the multiplayer.

The true answer is both. I do think I will end up spending more time in single player because I have a feeling that the story is just going to be too good to stay away from for too long.

I really wish that there WASN'T online multiplayer in this. I would have rather had the time and resources that went towards developing that aspect of the game put into the single player experience instead.
I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority with my opinion, however.. I simply can't stand online gaming.

Bad question! only 24 hrs?
Who cares even if GTA IV drops multiplayer altogether?
Granted I'll probably try the multiplayer within the hour of getting the game.
It's all about the stories and the missions

Single player for me.
Multiplayer won't be good enough. I want to experience the GTA 4 world. Not listen to some brat abusing and doing crap.

I have to say Multi-player mainly because 12 to 15 of my friends and I are going to have a midnight multiplayer party to kick GTA 4 off right.....including sick days...call-off's and vacation days that follow I will be playing single-player.

Singler play all the way. I'm looking forward to seeing all the cool things they were able to do with more power at their hands. Then, it'll be time to jack some foo out of his car and hit him with some type of object online.

Multiplayer adds to the social experience folks! Don't worry it'll be awesome, and we'll still be playing this game well into next year.
IGN has played the different multiplayer modes already, and it seems like they highly approved...

I go single. Why? I like to roll solo in order to learn the controls and some of the ins and outs of gameplay. That way once I make it online, I don't get owned, but rather do the owning. I hated Saints Row online. I just thought it was kinda cheezy mostly. I agree with the 'hard to get acheivements' bc nobody is playing anymore... That won't happen for a while, so for acheivement mongers, get the multiplayer ones before the follwoing online diminishes.

Well, I'm not sure how many people will be firing up the game on the 29th and actually going into multiplayer, so it may be a bit sparse. Most of my friends will have the game on the 29th, but won't be home to play it until later in the day. We probably won't all get to MP until the 30th, which is fine.
I think I want to be introduced to this new world through the SP campaign first - I don't want to see anything too cool through the MP mode for the first time. I realize that the entire city won't be open to you in SP right away, but hopefully by about 14-16 hours of game play I'll have the opportunity to see the whole city in the SP campaign and drive around for a bit. After that, I'll probably go into MP, but maybe only private matches to start. I want to try out all those modes with my buds first.
Dude, this wait is killing me. KILLING ME!!!
