Tom, you're an utter fool. UT3 hasn't had the hype behind it that Gears did as they haven't marketed it as hard.

If I had to choose between, having played (and currently own both), I would take UT3 over Gears, any day.

Gears wouldn't be out any sooner if UT3 wasn't in development. Why are people bitching about expanding the 360 game library and giving people choices. There's a lot of UT fans out there, and they're probably not the same people that like Gears (as Deck said, they're very different games appealing to different tastes). I'm sure Epic has plenty of people working on Gears 2, they know how much money it'll make them, they're not stupid.

Zeus, so if we can't rely on Metacritic (gets the review scores from tons of different sources) and we can't rely on number of games sold, then this is just another massive opinion fight, completely pointless so just know I won't reply beyond this post to you guys anymore (better things to do :/ )

Tom, you haven't played the game, obviously, nor have you ever played any other Unreal or any game LIKE Unreal.

Unreal MADE Gears of War. Without Unreal, there would be no Gears of War.

Where does it say that UT3 won't be getting mod support on the 360? I thought thats what they were working towards.

I must have misread it. They're still pushing for community content but have gotten nowhere.

I like my PS3 but FPS's are almost unplayable on it with that controller. I got UTIII for it anyway because I like the series and wanted to get my console fix on it and with its frenetic gameplay it was even more impossible to play with that controller than a regular FPS.

The SONY controller works fine and if your thumbs aren't up to the task, the PS3 version also supports mouse and keyboard.

Yes, Microsoft did a very nice job with their controller, but heaven exists somewhere with the 360 layout and the PS3 D-Pad. Haha

@Vicze: I play it all the time on my friend's PS3 and have zero problems with it. I can no-scope headshot from across Torlan with no problems with it, though I will be getting a keyboard and mouse for it, since I've been playing it on PC.

No... You haven't. The reason it doesn't have a following on the PS3 is because the PS3's community is mostly just a bunch of movie nerds who don't even use it for games. This game is better played on the PC and 360 than the PS3.

This game beats the pants off of CoD4, Halo 3 (especially Halo 2), and especially Gears.

Anywho, how could you ever possibly know if he played it or not? He even implied that he did with his comment "Nothing like Gears, COD, or Halo 3, even halo 2 still beats the shit outa this game"

So since I feel this game beats all the others flat out (of which, I have played ALL of them, VERY much), that means I'm a fanboy?

I have played every Unreal, and I KNOW why I like it better. It's far faster paced than any of those games and the mechanics are just right, not to mention the imagination put into the weapons, maps, and vehicles is far greater than ANY of those games COMBINED.

Just because Metacritic has a higher scoring for Gears than UT3 doesn't mean jack shit. To be honest, UT3 is rather vanilla in terms of game types, but it is still fun as Hell, and the pace is perfect. Its the kind of game that gets your heart going faster than anything and requires skill, unlike other games that are chalk full of auto-aim and other bullshit (ahem: Halo 2/3 and CoD4).

I'm not saying I don't like the other games, because I love them all, but UT3 is the clear winner in my opinion.

It is clearly obvious that this guy has not played the game, and neither have you, so until you have played it, shut your mouth, and don't ever speak it's name, because UT3 deserves far more sales than any of these new IPs for the 360 or PS3.
