Update: Well we'll be darned. Both Elizabeth and Naked Beneath the Water also release this week to HD DVD. Oops on our behalf and yay for those who wanted HD DVD choices.With Toshiba's Super Bowl commercial ending up being a not so entertaining waste of millions of dollars, we figured we had new HD DVDs to look forward to this week. Then we noticed that by saying new HD DVDs (plural) we are sort of bending the truth. You see, there are multiple HD DVDs releasing this week, it's just that they come packed together in one box. Deadliest Catch: Season 3 is the only new release this week, but it does come packed full of multiple HD DVD goodness and the show isn't all that bad either. It's actually mildly entertaining. So, Deadliest Catch is your only HD DVD choice this week, but you have other life choices to make anyway. Choices like, "what will you eat for supper tonight?" and "how much bleach is really necessary to make your whites white?"

That commercial was indeed horrible but the HD-DVD selection this week may be equally bad.

Let's use this pitifully empty space to start a discussion: How long will it be, if ever, before Microsoft announces a blu-ray drive? Or will they just make us use the XBLVM instead? It seems they've been pretty good at making blu-ray titles available over VM, but as of now, they leave alot to be desired...
Plus, I'm naked underneath the water.

i did the deed. I bought a ps3. I mean, its the same price as the cheapest blu-ray player @ best buy. I still like the 360 much better, but when should we all just scrap our hd dvd add ons? The selection is dwindling down more and more for hd-dvd....

yes, THE BRAVE ONE comes out in HD-DVD & Blech Ray.
Something I noticed in the Fry's Ad ... ONLY Blech Ray is shown as releasing of this movie, does not mention HD-DVD at all. BOOO FRYS ELECTRONICS!!!

We're in another drought right now (just like last year), although it'll pick up in a couple weeks with American Gangster, Bee Movie, and Beowulf.
