Today, Korean MMO developer Blueside announced that
Kingdom Under Fire II, a true sequel in the
KUF franchise, is currently in development and is penciled in for a rough 2009 release. And even more surprising than a new
KUF game announcement and news that there will be another faction introduced, is the fact that the game looks graphically stunning. Blueside released a handful of screenshots (including the one above) and if the final build looks anything like these screenshots then we just may end up drooling all over our television sets come
KUFII launch day. Just look at those dreads and that armor. Oh, and is that a scar we see? Yummy.

The first game in this series that just came out was hands down terriable, comparable to 99 nights, scratch that not even that good.

Awesome. I was wondering why Circle of Doom was so different... I didn't realize it was just considered a spin-off of sorts.

Uh first off the first game in this series came out years ago on the original Xbox and it was a good game as was the second. The third game, the recently released one, was made into a hack and slash RPG rather than following its traditional RTS/RPG strategy. The new announced one will return to tradition and if its anything like the first two it will be great.

Actually the first game came out on the PC, not the Xbox. The Crusaders is the second game of the series making this the fifth game.

I remember renting the first game and thinking it was okay, if a little tedious to control. I ran out of patience and didn't finish it, which is a rarity with me. I got the latest KUF from Gamefly over the weekend, and it was so horrible, I sent it back the next day. I'll give the series another chance, and if it still sucks, I'm just going to look through it as if it weren't there, like I do with Dynasty Warriors or Tomb Raider.

Hopefully, it should be good since it is going back to the roots.
Too bad its a "rough" 2009 release. Since that'll mean 2010. :-/
