Both Hudson's Omega Five and some very, very old-school Tron will make their way to the XBLA this Wednesday, January 9th with a reception the scale of a presidential inauguration. Omega Five will release for 800 Microsoft points and feature pretty 3D graphics, local co-op and crazy amounts of "boom!", "kablam!" and "splat!". Tron on the other hand will release for 400 Microsoft points and feature multiplayer co-op local or over Live (double the grid bug killing fun!) as well as a versus mode too. Not to mention it'll also sport some sexy CD quality audio. Again, both games will release to the XBLA this Wednesday, so give 'em a try and be smiley.

I used to use the key to the Tron standup in my father's restaurant so I could play over and over for free. This will be sweet if the spinner on the MadCatz controller does its job...

Tron seems a good candidate for the free game. Only 400 points, so cheap, and no-one has it yet.
However I doubt it will be the free game.

I have $800.00 can I buy a cool new feature 360? No. Fucking A MS. I have 500,000 Points can I buy real arcade games and movies without DRM? NO.
I'm really starting to doubt how these people do business. PS3 = Sucky Games , Wii = can't even be found , 360 = WTF?!

You know what device doesn't have DRM issues.. a book..
now stop your bitching it's getting old. Or better yet, why don't you just quit gaming altogether if there are issues with all.
I swear, there are bigger things to worry about in the world than DRM or gaming.

You know what else is cool about books? When I buy one, I own it. I even get to read it whenever I want.
I don't have to worry about the publisher not allowing me to read something sitting on my shelf because their printers are having an issue.
I would love to pick up Tron but until the DRM is fixed I'm not purchasing another Arcade title.

I'm assuming this has to do with yet another RROD of problem and things not associating properly. They have methods to correct this. They helped me, they've helped other people I know. Do people just refuse to call the service department and explain this VERY WELL KNOWN problem to them? I don't understand it.

The only real fix is to purchase all the content over again. That means entering a long string of code to add the points back to your account.
I own about 50 Live Arcade games.
And while I have no issue with taking the time to do all that (thank you Chat Pad), I shouldn't have to. Not to mention, I have to get someone on the phone willing to make it right and give me those codes.
Yes this can be a RRoD issue, in my case it was an upgrade issue of moving my stuff from my Premium HDD to my Elite HDD.

Neon Jebus, you don't have to buy they again, just download them. I had my box replaced and a ton of DLC and I simply had to "redownload" it. I quote that because it took less than 5 seconds for each thing.

@ Mike,
I tried that very thing last weekend. It did not work. When Xbox Live went down a few minutes later I was back to Demo mode on those games.

WTF is wrong with the hyperlinks in this post? Is it just me?

Nevermind, my browser was zoomed to 110% for some reason, which caused the hyperlinks to be unaligned with the text that was supposed to trigger them. Weird.

This is a great week for the Arcade.
Its a bit of a let down that Omega5 isn't online co-op and I'm sure alot of people that wern't clear on that are gonna complain but I'm sure it'll still be a great addition to my Arcade.

Agreed, if it is anything like the old Mac game I played in high school.
