Microsoft just announced that United States Lost Odyssey pre-orders are now available from major retailers and that with each pre-order, gamers will get a bonus. Those who put up their cash for a Lost Odyssey pre-order will receive a "special" redemption code that'll allow for the download of an extra mission as well as a new weapon. And let us be the first to say ... yawn. When will developers and publishers realize that redemption codes are total bologna and that gamer see right through this magical "offer". We want free stuff that was conceived post development or at least tangible. Pre-order redemption codes, meh to them all.US Lost Odyssey pre-order bonus is "meh"

I'll preorder it. I shop at a smaller game store because I hate gamestop and would rather give my money to a small game centered store than an electronics mega store ( I know knuckles always calls people who preorder suckers cause he can get any game at his best buy), so if I want a game that isn't an obvious huge seller I have to preorder it. So this is just a nice bonus.

I guess you missed the "major retailers" part of the article. I'll be checking out Circuit City and Target later today, simply because no one seems to know who any of the "participating retailers" are yet. Probably Best Buy will have them though, I remember them having preorder bonuses for the last two Guitar Hero games, and they always have those preorder boxes for PC games.

Give a person nothing and he will complain. Give a person something and he will complain even louder.

I totally agree.
If everything's in the game and there's no DLC, people while about no DLC.
If there's DLC, people complain that they shouldn't have to pay more for something, and that it should be in the game anway.
If people try to give away DLC for free, people complain that...well, if I'm reading this correctly, that they want this DLC to come at a later time?
Evidently the solution is for every game to come out with so much content you'll never finish it, then to daily offer more content for free, and also maybe give away the game for free in the first place. Oh, and give away another free game as a pre-order bonus. And also for them to pay you for playing the game.

I am not buying any Jap RPG till I get to play a demo!! No matter how good it looks. I mean you just have to look @ Blue Dragon to justify that!! I hate turn based RPGs and I just hope this isnt. Other than that the story has got me interested so if the gameplay looks interesting(which it should be, cause its 50hrs long!!) I just might pick it up.

Yes this is a turn based RPG, and I for one can't wait for an amazing turn based RPG for the 360, I'm so stoked for this, I'm going to play it for hours straight as soon as the store opens.
