This week's HD DVD list is kinda minimal. It's also kinda lackluster, but that's not to say that some won't find the list below super exciting. Because we are keen to the fact that there are a lot of Queen,
Battlestar Galactica and polar bear fans out there. But we were just hoping for some big blockbuster releases, you know ... like
Superbad on HD DVD. But no, it's a Sony distributed movie which equals Blu-ray exclusive. Meh to that. Anyhoo, your HD DVD releases for this week are below and be sure to watch out for next week. It'll be jam packed full of releases and we've got two words for you ... Harry Potter.
- HD DVD Movie Releases: December 4th
- Arctic Tale
- Battlestar Galactica: Season One
- Queen Rock Montreal & Live Aid

I havce the HD-DVD drive, I am the biggest fan of Battlestar Galactica you can find, and yet, I'm not sure if buying it again is worht it to me. My HD TV does such a good job with SD content, that many DVDs (inlcuding the first season of Battlestar Galactica) look great as is. Plus, being a big fan of the show, I want to be able to show other people how awesome it is and I can't just lend out HD DVD's to most people.

Never Fear! Yes, you can Ogvor!. The battle star galatica boxset is a hybrid format. Better for the environment lol.
If you flip the hd-dvd disc over, the other side is dvd. Flip it back over agan and your back to hd goodness. So you could lend BSG season 1 to those with a hd-dvd player and those without just by telling them to turn the disc over. :)

Really!? I thought they had phased out the dual sided discs. Interesting, as long as it still has the commentary and extras (which most HD DVDs don't) I very well may purchase my first HD DVD. I have had the HD DVD drive for over a year (I got it at a super deal by price matching a misprinted ad at Best Buy for 99$) and haven't purchased any, rather I just have a Netflix subscription. It's a lot cheaper than replacing my DVD collection.
