Okay, to be honest and forthright, there are a handful of super brand new HD DVDs releasing this week including
The Reaping and
A Mighty Heart,
which we're sure are great movies in their own right. But we don't care, because we have Michael Bay's visual mind-screw, robot porn of explosive goodness that is
Transformers on HD DVD this week. And, need we mention that
Transformers is exclusive to the HD DVD format? Because, it is. Watch this movie, watch it in full 1080p glory and be amazed at the extra content Paramount stuck in this HD release. Commence drooling ... now.
- HD DVD Movie Releases: October 16th
- A Mighty Heart
- The Reaping
- Return to House on Haunted Hill
- Transformers

Not having high def audio didn't stop it from achieving a five star audio rating.
Go back to enjoying your Playstation and watching your Bluray Disney movies without web-enabled content or PIP. Not to mention NOT playing games on a shitty console.

Dante why don't you go ahead and tell us about a title from Paramount that has been released with lossless audio. Oh? Can't find one?
Anyway-- enjoy your MPEG2.

Dante says: But.. but... someday my ps3 will have games.
And they are really close to being able to process DTS-HD Master Audio on the PS3, it should only be a couple more firmware updates.

Face it- if you pick up and look at the back of a title released in both HD DVD and BD you go "where are the special features on the BD?"
Same with the games... you say "well, they ported this to the PS3 so it is almost the same game right?" Sure, minus xbox live, minus achievements, minus rumble, minus fun.
How's Madden? Looks pretty nice over here.

Hey moron, Dolby Digital Plus *IS* hi def audio. It's 1.5mbps compared to regular Dolby Digital which is only 640kbs or less. If you're going to troll, at least learn a little on what you're trolling about.
All HD DVDs require DD+ as a minimum audio spec.
Moron.
