Joystiq recently got to lay their hands on the Call of Duty 4 single player campaign, one of the less explored aspects of the game. Many players have had a chance to give multiplayer a try thanks to the multiplayer beta that ended last month. Overall, the largest impression gathered about the game is that it is not necessarily realistic, but hovers more closely to straight up action. Joystiq comments on its grand sense of scale and fast paced combat. A plodding, strategic affair it isn't, apparently. Still, regardless of the action focus, the game seems to present a solid single player campaign that FPS fans should be excited to play. Head over to Joystiq for full impressions.

I played the Multiplayer Beta and LOVED it! I'm sure the single player will be great, but nothing will beat playing a Live Human Opponent. The customization of the weapon classes alone make this game a guaranteed purchase. If they let you customize your character also then I will probably stop playin Halo 3. Yeah, it's THAT Good.

Oh yeah, that article was definitely weak. They never told whether they were pro/con. But they were right, it's definitely not a Clancy style shooter. It's full of nice smooth non-stop ACTION! "Friendly Airstrike Inbound"..."SWOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHH BOOOMBOOOOOMBOOOOOOOOOOOMBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" Yeah Like That!

Personally, I'm looking forward to a game that involves less strategy.

Anyone who has played any previous Call of Duty should never have been expecting a realistic strategic affair. CoD 2 campaign was pure over the top, non-stop action.

I honestly can't wait for this game, I thought halo was going to take over but after the Call of Duty beta I've been left wanting for more.
