The next time you plop in
BioShock be prepared to experience the phenomena known as an automatic title update. That's right, 2K Games just released a title update for good old
BioShock and, to be honest, it's a rather yawn inducing update at that. The title update is more or less a general maintenance fix the helps improve the stability of game saves, audio fixes, some AI behaviors and all that jazz. So, no
new plasmids, no new features, and no big bug squash. It's simply a vanilla flavored update.

The only thing I noticed after getting the update is the game takes longer to load and save games. It also takes a couple of seconds longer to load textures after a death or loading a saved game. I just start with plain brown or black walls that last 10 seconds or so. Anyone else?

I have the same stuttering problem. I was about 2 levels from the end of the game when the patch came down, and wow it really turned a great game into a terrible experience. Basically every 10 seconds there is a huge (at least 1 second) freeze. Battles were painful. Avoid this patch at all costs, it will suck the fun out of an otherwise great game.

any way to remove this update? The game keeps stuttering and it takes way longer to load. The game was perfect before.

I read on GameFaqs and some other boards that clearing your Cache helps fix the stuttering problems. They said to hold RB+LB up until the title screen and that should fix it. I didn't have any issues personally

Guys clear your cache. When you load the game up hold down the Left and right bumper and do not let go till you hit the title screen. You must sit through all the cutscenes and stuff.
The ones getting lag are experiences what i had before this update even came out, clearing your cache sorts it out.

The game was perfect for me until the awful update. I thought something was wrong with my 360 because of the painful load/save times and the unbelieveable every 7 second freeze. Thankgod you are able to clear the cache as this did help and it is better but the load/save times are still longer than before the update and still notice some minimal pausing.

After I got the update the signal from the Xbox to the TV kept cutting out. Id be playing along and the screen would flicker then the TV would say "No Signal" I checked all the wires and still it would stutter.
After shutting it down for a while and coming back to it it seemed to be fine.
I feel a RROD coming on :(

The update dropped the framerate for me. I've already played through the game twice so I noticed the drop right away. I'll try the reset the cache trick but this sounds like way too much hassle to fix an auto update.
