Etch A Sketch will sketch its way onto the XBLA

In what has to be arguably one of the oddest XBLA game ideas to ever come to fruition, Indian developer Game Shastra announced that they will be working on an XBLA version of ... Etch A Sketch. Yup, Etch A Sketch. It's the same red bordered, white knobbed, shaky-shake artistic device you played with as a kid, but now on your TV and coming to the Arcade. We aren't sure when or how Etch A Sketch will land on the Arcade, but we're almost certain that the game will not require shaking your HD television back and forth to erase the screen. Because that "feature" would so result in HD TV pieces scattered all over the floor. Anyway, full and completely interesting Etch A Sketch press release is viewable after the break.

8. I don't know, it might work. If they give the person more then the game itself offers. Color, different design tech. and the ablility to make your creations move. Hell, we should have paint on xbox live. Just add it free on the next update. Paint is the $h1T!

etchasketch with two rotary knobs and a black line, just doesnt float my boat, and i'm not sure whose boat it would float, other than the etchasketchist guy.

12. This is the only game I know of that would benefit using a SIXAXIS controller over a 360 controller, firstly due to the position of the analogue sticks on the SIXAXIS being similar to the position of the knobs on Etch A Sketch, and also because the tilt sensors could allow you to shake the controller to clear the screen!

13. Maybe use the drawing as your gamerpic? Highly doubtful but you never know!

14. Or a 2 player Etch-Off online????

15. Interesting in deed. Anybody wanna guess that this will be 800 points thus making it more expensive than a real Etch-A-Sketch?

PS3 gets Echochrome and the 360 get's Etch-A-Sketch.. Who at this company is making the game choices?

I am anxiously waiting to find out what the gameplay elements of this are. Because if it's just a lame ass paint program color me unimpressed. (or Etch me unimpressed)

16. Haha wtf

17. I agree with above, this should be on the PS3 or Wii. (preferably the PS3) MS should make an extension (like the keyboard) to add motion sensitivity.
