4. Halo fans who've never played it are in for a treat - it's the spiritual predecessor to Halo in many respects. The most obvious is usage of bright blue/green/purple for alien technology and weapons. The Durandal logo itself appears in Halo as a small nod to Bungie's roots...
can't wait

7. Everything I want to know.
Except when it goes live. 'Cos I want this game bad. I want this game in ways that are illicit and possibly illegal.

8. Are you crazy? FINAL DOOM? Duke Nukem is definetly a worthy game agasint marathon and is much more advanced (still not as cool IMO) but Marathon owns all the doom games in every technical and playable aspect. Duel wielding, abiltiy to look up and down, levels with rooms above and below each oher...actual liquids with physics applied, 8 player co-op and multiple deathmatch modes (that use multi designed levels..not the single campaign maps like doom), inventories, actual missions, a developing story with over 13,000 lines of text, secondary fires, reloading with clips, etc...OH and how could I forget the BOBS! Civilians equiped with pistols who help you out..or kill you if you bug em too much! MARATHON OWNZ DOOM! YOU WILL ALL SEE WHEN IT COMES OUT! And in case the hd graphics suk just play on standard to get the true flavor from back in the day.

9. ok, after alittle research I have the scoop on this game.
This game is 134 mb in size. It will cost 800 MS points.
All achievments can be earned co-op.
1 Achievment is to kill a member of Bungie.
Marathon supports 8 player live.
The game now runs at 60 fps rather than 30.
The game is completley remade with improved graffix, the engine has been built from scratch. The art work has been redrawn better than b4 and the game is in HD.
Its comming to the arcade this summer.
It is being redone by freeverse not bungie, and they said if it dose well they WILL make the other Marathon games for the Arcade.
@8
Yeah, I never played this game b4. I was never down with MAC. It may have alot more to it than final doom, However Doom is much and I do mean MUCH more signifigent to the history of gamming than Marathon was. Somewhere in the greatHistory of Gamming book, Marathon will be mentioned in high regards in the paragraph or two it has to say something about MAC gamming.
But yes, the game looks to be way better than the doom currently available in the arcade.

1 more thing, If Marathon donsnt have the character giving strippers money and telly them to shake it, Giant humanoid pigs in police uniforms, jackoff booths and threats like " I'm gonna rip your head off, and shit down your neck", then I dont wanna hear that Marathon is a cooler game than the Duke ok.

11. You make some good points about Duke being cool and I agree. I was mainly pointing out technical difference though between doom and marathon (who came out at the same time) and since duke was out far later than these he really doesnt count in this arguement of better for its time.

1. Wow I remember playing this game as a kid for hours and hours. None of my friends thought anything about Marathon or its little developer Bungie. I am so glad its coming to XBLA. I lost my original floppy set.
Peace Love and Xbox 360
