Over on the Forza Motorsport 2 forums members are investigating a way to change the 360 racing wheel's force feedback in the Forza 2 demo. Currently, the Forza 2 demo does not allow customizable racing wheel options, but the Colin McRae DiRT demo does allowing players to change various settings. And, as such, some forum members are reporting that the DiRT demo's force feedback settings magically transfer over to the Forza 2 demo. So, if you're feeling the need for more force feedback in Forza 2, fire up DiRT, customize your racing wheel options and see if it helps your Forza 2 demo situation. Although, all this confusion could be avoided if Microsoft would integrate some sort of racing wheel options menu through the dash. You hear us Microsoft?[Thanks, thermodynamic]

A dash update to include the ability to setup wheels as well as *merge* inputs to one channel. You need to be able to map a controller to player TOPLEFT and a the wheel so you can drive with the wheel and navigate the UI or tune your car or paint/sticker up your car etc with the controller.

I second Mister2zx3's motion, especially when the QWERTY thumbpad comes out. Doesn't look like it'll be very convenient, if it even fits at all on the racing wheel, no way will I be using MSN without the thumbpad, so an extra controller better be usable for that.

Do you think you should be IM'ing and driving? It puts yourself and other people in danger. Think about it.

DiRT was so much better than Forza 2. It made Forza look boring as hell. It even had too really good in car view options. The so called simulator Forza 2 didn't even have one.

Forza 2 looks and plays like a big ol pile of shit compared to Dirt. For 1 thing Forza feels slow, another thing the graffix look too polished giving off this overall corney look.
Forza has no inside driver view which is really weak. Dirt has two inside views to choose from and both are amazing. I dont really usually like car games but Dirt has very much impressed me.

Ye man im glad ppl r saying that about Forza, it looks worse than PGR3, which came out in '05! DiRT is just better looking, more fun, and incredibly polished in regards to presentation.

Anyone else with the wheel have issues with autocentering? Mine, which I bought brand new yesterday, centers to the right by about 15 degrees. Sometimes, it seems to fix itself while playing the Forza 2 demo, but that usually doesn't last. There's also a clicking sound. Lousy microsoft.

Dirt did look better, but handled like an arcade racer.
I'll take good but not great graphics from Forza considering the excellent physics model, cutomization and car variety.

I think they're both great in their own ways. Yeah Dirt's a little arcadish but it's fun as all hell. Forza isn't as jaw dropping gorgeous as I had hoped, but the simulation is awsome. I'll be suckered into both. For the record as well, when racing buggys in Dirt's I rather noticed that this game puts Motorstorm to shame as far as graphics go.

I never understood while people like racing sims like forza. You feel like your going so slow in them, and turning is hard as shit. Dont you guys own cars in real life? Go drive those and avoid playing simulations. Arcade style racers are the only fun ones.

After playing dirt and forza demos, i'm not evening planning on buying forza anymore. Forza's demo was a complete letdown for many of the reasons already posted above.
DIRT is the racer i've been waiting for! Can't wait to get my hands on a retail copy.
Where are the wheel settings in dirt? i couldn't find them.

The wheel settings are in the main menu, not in game, under control setup.
Alright guys i dunno if its just me but i just bought the wheel and Ive been having nothing but problems. It continuously rumbles awkwardly, and doesn't feel fluid at all. Plus in dirt, even when i gear up i only go like 60 max, with my pedal to the floor. It just doesn't feel like it's worth $100.
If anyone can help me some advice would be nice:)
P.S. i attempted changing the settings but i didn't no wut any of it meant.

People who think burnout is a racing game should not be alowed in the magnificient presence of Forza.
It's really a game that separate the casuals from the hardcore racing game fans.
To the schmuck that told people to drive their real cars: Do you have Dozens of Ferrari's, Lambo's, Corvette's, Hondas, Toyotas, Mercedes, BMWs all with 40.000$ worth of upgrades?
Can you take all of them into a circuit with another 7 cars and race houndreds of times a week?
Think before you write.
Or keep saying Burnout is a racing game...

T Ghost said it all.
Some people want a car game that lets them get as close as they can to driving cars that they can't afford.
If some of you people are going to complain that it's too slow or that it's not as "fun" as some game like Burnout or Need for Speed, are you at least aware that Forza is more accurate to driving a real car than those other games? And fun is a matter of opinion. Racing real cars in real life is fun for some.

I've been playing forza 2 non stop since it came out....and I'm hooked but come on...is anybody denying that the graphics are like xbox one quality with better anti-aliasing and framerate. Seriously the crowds of people cheering are pathetic...it's distracting. Believe me the physics are top notch...but driving a lambo in forza is nothing like the REAL thing...the graphics just distract from all the hard work turn 10 put everywhere else. Gran tursimo had 10 times better replays...which was my favorite part....watching my race when I was done racin. NOW! the second I played the Dirt demo on my 24 LCD...cranked the sound...I was immersed....it's really good...the grass is 3d...the blur is nice...everything just feels polished...they even modeled some descent driver models for inside the car...unlike forza who use some lame ass dummy with a silver visor. The controls are not nearly as refined as forza or Gran turismo but the feeling I get when I put the hood view or cockpit view are just awsome...and in that regards...it's just as realistic...
Don't get me wrong I'm an amateur motorcycle racer so I will always stick with simulations...but DIRT OWWWWWWNNNNSSSSSSSS FORZA.....it actually looks like a NEXT GEN game...whatever that means....

I love dirt and forza, i have a racing wheel which i really like to use. it worked amazingly for PGR 3. and it works really well for DiRT, when you tweak it a bit. but i simply cannot figure out a suitible set up for the options in forza 2. the options are there, they just dont really make any damn sense. not to mention i dont like forza as much as dirt. but meh. whatever.
