Joystiq reports that Guitar Hero II supply problems are becoming prevalent to gamers in Canada and the UK. This has been confirmed by one of Joystiq's UK bloggers, who states, "I've tried about a dozen retail stores, [it's] harder to find than a Wii." Wow, that is hard to find. When reached for comment, Red Octane told Joystiq that the supply issues were purely a result of an "insane amount of demand" for the title. Furthermore, they note that there are still many retailers in the United States experiencing supply troubles as well.Red Octane's advice? Buy directly from the Red Octane store. If you just have to have Guitar Hero II (and honestly, you do), ordering from Red Octane may be your only hope. Be warned though, shipping costs are not cheap.

Don't I know it! I had my last exam on Wednesday and promised myself GH2 as a reward. I don't think I've got much chance of getting it for at least another week.
Might end up getting Earth Defence Force instead. Damn your eyes, RedOctane!

That's a LIE. All the stores that I have asked (various Best Buys and EB Games around the city of Toronto) have claimed that they have NOT gotten ANY shipments since the launch day. I bought the game then successfully, but I had a defective guitar (broken yellow button) and now I'm left with a raincheck, hoping the game comes in within 30 days.
There is a demand, but that's not the reason why there is no stock. They just aren't shipping any!

God I love this game. Anyway, EB/gamespot/whatever was, of course, sold out, but Best Buy had a kiosk with tons of them. Don't know how long that lasted, but I found one when I finally bought it week after launch.

Yes, while I got Guitar Hero II on launch weekend, my friend has been searching all over Edmonton and area with no luck. The other day we went to EB Games just to check and were told that they hadn't gotten any shipped to them since launch.

The Red Octane store doesn't ship to the UK.
Also, does anyone know when the controller on it's own will be available in the UK???

Jay, as far as I saw on Red Octane's website, any order bigger than 100 bucks gets free shipping. That makes the multiplayer bundle free shipping.

I'm pretty much bored with mine now that I've finished it. I'm willing to sell mine for $100 in Toronto. Local PU only. First email address posted takes it a the stated price.
