New Two Worlds trailer impresses
It's been some time since we've seen or heard anything new about Two Worlds, the upcoming online RPG from Southpeak Interactive and Reality Pump. Lucky for us, a new trailer for the game has been released. The trailer shows off the the game's environments, characters, and some combat as well. Graphically, the game is looking mighty impressive, with visuals comparable to (but not quite as good as) Oblivion. The towns feature some particularly nice textures. There are several different weapon types displayed in the video, including swords, staves, maces, and spears. The video also shows glimpses of dual wielding and magic. All in all, Two Worlds is looking pretty decent. Check out the video and tell us what you think.

I won't pass judgment til I play a demo. But I also won't buy it til a demo either. Some of that video looked pretty damn bad, like everquest 1 bad.

That's the version I watched. I really felt like some of the models could have used a higher level of detail and some of that animation was rough rough stuff. And where is all of the Co-op play footage? I wanna see multiple characters fighting off hordes of enemies, not alot of dual wielding drizzt knock offs. :D

I feel that this is an Oblivion clone with online tacked on. Now, I have not problem with that, but in order to stand out (and for me to buy it) it will have to have a way better plot than oblivion (in order to make me give up my already awesome Oblivion and its DLC).
I really don't need another RPG until Mass Effect is released. Also to note, I don't play online, so multiplayer coop does nothing for me.

Looks better than oblivion imo. From all the screens and research i've done on this game for the past few months i have no doubts that it will surpass oblivion.

While I do agree that some of the character models could use a bump or two...
I'm willing to forgive it considering the environment looks superb.
while im willing to admit that some of the animation is a little off.
I'm willing to forgive it considering the animations for usings weapons are excellent.
also I love a lot of the new ideas theyre using, and further more 8 player coop + hundreds of players online in towns is nothing to pass up.
(which is a valid excuse for the character models)

What is with the comments insulting the animations, did your versions of Oblivion have an awesome array of combat animations or something? Because in my Oblivion, the animations are dull and suck ass.

To get the full effect, you have to watch the video while saying "8 player coop on LIVE" over and over again.
Now that's interesting!

There's something not quite right... like the textures are sort of lacking or something. The way the characters look in comparison to the environment is a little off. I dunno, something just didn't feel right. It does looks quite a bit (not in terms of technology, but more like the style) like Oblivion.

If youre going to be picky about skeletons bleeding...
then you should also be picky about them moving despite not have muscles.
or a brain.
or eyes to see.

I would say that while the animations aren't the best, it is the art direction on the actual characters and enemies that are seriously lacking. Just look at the initial screen before the video plays, the muscles on the troll thing just seems way too spherical and bring nothing new to the genre. Side note, I love Oblivion and have 2 characters with over 100 hours, but this game isn't really peaking my interest.

Exactly, this is a game that desperately needs a Demo to get my dollar.

Aside from the horse, I can easily deal with the rest, the combat animations look very good for the genre, I just hope you don't need to perform some intricate combo to do it.
As always, a demo would be most welcome.
