Our Canadian friends are now officially feeling the Xbox 360 Elite love, because they've become privileged enough to be able to preorder the black wonder. X3F reader Trevor sent word that both Canadian Best Buy and Future Shop stores are now taking online preorders for the 360 Elite. So, if you're Canadian and willing to throw down $549.99, simply make your way to their online stores and get your preorder on. Also note that in the US you can only preorder the Elite from Circuit City, because US Best Buy stores have yet to take the preorder plunge. As we always say, preorders for all fanboys everywhere (except Europe)!

1. thats a pretty good fuckin deal...the premium here is only $500...which means for $50 more you get a harddrive that is priced at $100 more as well as hdmi. sounds like a pretty damn good deal...and considering that the ps3 20GB is $600 and the 60GB is $700...i think that microsoft has split themselves off from the competition quite well. who knows...at this price...i might even get it...

2. I would like to note that the "estimated" date is may 4th and not april 29th like in the US. oh well...we get a better price too.

3. I'll be preordering a Elite from Future Shop. HDMI rocks!

Now I have to consider what to do with the Premium I am currently using. Anyone wanna buy one cheap? :P

4. If I was buying an Xbox 360 for the first time I'd definitely get the Elite but it's not worth it to me to sell my premium and have to cough up the remainder. I've never ran out of hard drive space and I don't have a TV with HDMI so it's pretty much a useless upgrade for me.

8. IMO despite the price, the elite itself still doesn't seem justified in Canada since Canadians hardly get access to any of the media content on marketplace that's available to U.S. consumers. On the other hand, if that were to change...

9. I was told by a Microsoft Rep that we won't get content cause they failed CRTC testing that says you need 30% canadian content. so were screwed, The only thing we can fill the hard drive with is HD viva pinata and demos.

10. I'm all for the hardcore set - HDMI and a bigger HD are cool, but not really feeling the 'must-buy' vibe. If I didn't already have a 360, I'd easily buy the Elite ... but as it is now I might end up ripping my wallet to get the bigger HD by itself anyway.

... oh and the Elite product page at Futureshop is an F'ing riot. Read the product description ... at the very end ... "The hunt for Sarah Connor continues."
