The Darkness trailer creeps out XBLM

The Darkness trailer that was released on the interweb last week is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. So, if screen-door-quality internet streaming video isn't your cup of tea, you can now download it in glorious High Definition. It's definitely worth checking out in HD, too, as the graphical fidelity is top notch in The Darkness. What we're getting at here is that the game looks nice. Well, nice may not be the proper word. Let's see ... gruesome, that's the word! It looks gruesome. Of course, if you're stuck at work and can't download it now, you can always check out the streaming version we posted earlier. Enjoy.

Who's planning on picking up The Darkness?

1. Believe me: as soon as its out in stores, I'll run home with a copy! After CONDEMNED, this is THE only horror game I'm looking forward to.

2. The framerate looks kind of dodgy, and I'm not sure how it will play, but I really loved Chronicles of Riddick on the Xbox so I'll give starbreeze the benefit of the doubt. PLayable demo would be nice...

3. Definitely gonna pick this title up. The game play looks great and so does the graphics. Hope it's gonna have a good multiplayer mode.

4. "The framerate looks kind of dodgy"

That can be really hard to tell from a video, though. Most videos are not compressed at the same frame rates as the source for size reasons, some even will skip and merge frames as necessary. It's pretty dependent on how it was compressed. I'm not sure how the site usually handles that (or how whoever grabbed the video handled it either).

Who can say for sure though. Hopefully it's not really an issue.

5. @4 true, and I'm willing to give it the benefit for that as well. Might gamefly it too, even if there is a demo. The Saint's Row demo was nowhere near as good as the game, so sometimes even that isn't enough to decide.

Hopefully it will come out when nothing else (Mass Effect) is devouring my time.
