Yesterday, we pointed out that Xbox 360 Premiums were being sold for £45 less than the standard list price in the UK. Today, we bring you a deal for the Xbox 360 Core system. Usually priced at £199.99, Play.com is slashing the Core's price by 50 quid. This brings it down by a quarter of the cost to £149.99. So, if you don't want to grab a premium for £235, you can get a Core system for £85 less than that. We'll keep you posted if any other retailers decide follow suit after Ballmer's observation. That all being said, which deal would you go for, the Premium at £235 or the Core at £150? Amazon.co.uk has the 20 GB HDD going for £65 making it cheaper than the premium by about £20. From what we can tell, Play.com and Amazon includes VAT in their pricing, so the savings are legitimate.[Via CVG]

Yes the prices do include VAT - amazon and play always do. It may be worth going for th core assuming they're going to release the 120gig for existing users when the new one is released. Even then I still think it's pointless having the core.

GAME have it on pre-order, with retail price of £477.97 for the "Sony PlayStation 3 with Resistance: Fall of Man and GAMEware HDMI Cable". That's the basic pack, while their most expensive pack goes to £565 for "Sony PlayStation 3 with Resistance: Fall of Man, Virtua Fighter 5, Virtua Tennis 3".
In dollars... LMAO... these come to $934 and $1,104.
Complain about US prices again and I'll cut your tongue out.
Good news for the 360 price drop; I know quite a few people who would rather have a 360 because everyone else does, and have put off buying one simply because of price.

I laugh at the price of the PS3 in the UK. I also laugh at the people who are stupid enough to buy one at more than twice, in some cases, thrice the price of the '360. No offense to my buddies in the UK, but if the PS3 is a smash hit over there, I'm really going to start wondering...
