1. Sadly, this is why HD-DVD will lose the HiDef format war. The PS3 has alot of Blu-Ray players out there. The best and only way to combat this? Flood the market with titles, old and new.

Instead, we get this.....

Rest in peace, HD-DVD. Your own makers were your killers.

What a shame....

2. Best movie of 2006, hands down. I'll be getting mine. And Romp, HD DVD ain't dead yet. Besides most using their PS3 are not using it as a Blu-ray player.

3. I agree, it was the best movie of last year. Highly recommended.

But I'll argue that most PS3 owners are using them as Blu-Ray players, since there are no games worth playing on it. (fanboy snap!)

4. There is no hyphen in HD DVD.

5. "But there is one good thing to note, that this movie comes in the combo format with the DVD version on the other side. More convenient, but a little more pricey."

Sounds like it's an excuse to keep new HD releases at $29.99, and old "new" releases at, what, $24.99? Why can't we have a Special Edition (like the two-disc Departed) HD release for any movie? Oh that's right, the motha-f@ckin' comeback.

6. I'll be getting it. I'm trying to support the HD DVD (no hyphen) format and since it has DVD on the otherside, that's nice cause I can watch it on other players as well.

I noticed that in the Fry's Ad that they're doing Buy One, Get One Free thing for Blu-ray. Also in Best Buy ads, they usually have the Blue-ray in there but nothing for HD DVD.

Universal told me only that they had 57 releases on HD-DVD (with a hyphen) on January 11th when I asked them why they weren't coming out with more or lowering the prices to be more competitive compared to Blu-ray.

I think Universal should do all of their future releases on the HD DVD/DVD format. Then everyone will already have the HD DVD discs and might as well upgrade their Xbox 360 with the HD DVD Player or buy a stand alone HD DVD player.

7. This does not bode well for HD DVD:

Blu-ray Movie Releases

* Broken Arrow
* Chain Reaction
* Chronos
* The Departed (two-disc special edition also available)
* Entrapment
* Ladder 49
* Marine
* Phone Booth
* Planet of the Apes
* Reign of Fire
* Sentinel
* Usual Suspects

And on top of that, Blu-Ray is getting a major gaining more and more of a userbase with the PS3 being a cheap (and high quality) Blu-Ray player.

8. im an xbox360fanboy, but sadly i mosied (sp?) on down to ps3fanboy and saw a shitload more bluray titles this month including the departed 2 disc special edition. i might have to get a ps3 for its bluray capabilities. but if i do get one, i'll get the 20gb and throw in a 160 gb hd ... apparently sony likes the haxxorz!

9. Try http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/index.php for HDdvd Movies that are out in europe and not here. Ive bought all the Rambo movies. They also have T2, Harry Potter and Total reacall ready to ship on HDDVD. I have both players and prefer the hddvd one. The colors are better on my Toshiba HDDVD player than that PS3 I only use for movies.

10. Well, now none can say that the Blu-Ray format is going to go the way of " Sony formats". And you know it's bad when a 360 fanboy considers getting a PS3.

Can't wait for the next-generation when Microsoft is forced to go Blu-Ray (unless they want to use DVD again).
