As soon as it went up, it has gone down. The 512 MB Memory Unit listed on Gamestop for $49.99 with a March 1st ship date has since been removed. Microsoft has stated that there hasn't been any announcements of releasing a larger Memory Unit. Also worth noting is that retailers occasionally jump the gun based on information currently available, take some of their listed release dates for example. Until confirmed, those are just speculation and placeholder dates so pre-orders can be made. In any case, time will only tell whether or not we'll hear anything more about increasing the memory card's capacity. So what do you think will be officially announced first, a larger Memory Unit or Hard Drive? Place your bets.[Via Next Generation]

I got a bet! Neither One! The only way that were gonna get more space for saves (just my bet) is the Windows Home Server when it comes out. Guess we'll have to wait, argue and see.

Im starting to care less, The way microsoft is handling this issue and continues to rip us off with overpriced add ons (except the hd dvd). So more than likely they will stick to the 256mb only because its cheap to get and they can still charge 50 bucks and someone out there will still pay that much for it.

It better be at least a 100GB HDD. But right now there marketing/strategy folks are getting things all screwed up. Sheesh, Is it so hard to get this. Folks want to give you money, so you make a profit, for a decent >100 GB HDD? What more do you need to make a business decision.. oh you stupid pointy hair bosses who then decide, let's instead give them huge long slow painfull movie downloads instead...

mister said it right...i am one of the many who would be willing to give MS money for movies and shows and yet they continusly miss the mark over and over again..120 gig HDD would be great that or let us use usb HDD's i want more storage and the idea the i would erase it and come back at a later time to re-download it is gay!! i would love to download 5 or 6 movies back to back for viewing later by with 1 HD movie taking up 7.1gig's that's never going to happen..MS needs to wake up and soon!
