Did RedOctane confirm GHII's release date?

RedOctane, developer of Guitar Hero II, posted a pre-order for the game's Xbox 360 version on their corporate store. Look closely though, because they listed an April 3rd ship date for the Guitar Hero II bundle. This has to mean something, because this isn't Gamestop or Toys R Us listing a release date. This is the developer's official online store listing the release date. This has to be accurate, unless RedOctane is just as clueless to the release date of their game as the rest of us. And as an added bonus you'll get a free gig bag when you preorder the game directly from them. Can you say rock on to an April release?

[Thanks, Tig]

1. From further down the page

"Your free gig bag may be shipped out with your order of Guitar Hero II prior to the launch date 4/3/2007 so you may receive your order by or after the launch date of 4/3/2007."

2. Considering that's the date that Gamestop's had for the past 2 weeks, and now the same date's showing up on the developer's website, i'd say that's pretty logical.

4. It appears that like normal with Guitar Hero, EB/Gamestop/Rhino will receive the game about a week early on Mar 27, but they have street dated the game for Apr 3.

5. Pre-ordered it from them. Beats the heck out of Gamestop's $5.00 handling fee on top of shipping and tax.

6. Bu...Wh... Huh? Damn it! I thought the release was supposed to be in March. Now it's another freaking month I will have to wait.

The ps2 version is growing more tempting by the minute :(
