KOTOR and Oblivion are about as RPG as I get, and even though I'm not a huge fan of the character design, I'm looking forward to Blue Dragon.

Comic books are pretty good reads, though I havent read on in years and unless the story in Blue Dragon is great, I won't be interested in the comic.
I must say, I enjoy the occasional RPG, but am neither a hardcore RPG fan or Japanese- but I'm still looking forward to Blue Dragon. A new 360 game that will probably be pretty good- great, what is there not to love about that. Although I'm no where as excited to play BD as compared to Mass Effect, Halo 3, or Bioshock, I'm still pretty excited.

Yeah, I like RPGs and i have not had a good one for a while. Good to see games beside FPS, Racers, and Sports. Not that their is anything wrong with those genres, just i want more diversity.

Generally I would consider ripping a lady's dress open to expose her chest leading onto.. more adult themes..
I actually would have much prefered if the character models looked somewhat like this as opposed to the silly cutesy ones we have now..
Now doubt it will be a good game though, with Mistwalker studios making it, so i'm still hyped.
Just hope it doesn't turn out to be another Enchant Arms, man that game really pushed me away from RPGs, and they are my fav genre..

Yeah, I'm not sure if this is the official comic or not. Something about it seems off to me. Especially since it's supposed to appear in Shonen Jump.

I'm not sure why Takeshi Obata is drawing it instead of the main man (well, he's probably busy on the character and area designs for Blue Dragon 2).

That is sick.
I find the cultural difference between here and Japan (as manifested in games) too great. I seldom buy games from over there and when I do it is rare that I finish them.
FF X and some Capcom survival horror titles being the only ones I have liked recently.
Comparing any Japanese RPG to Oblivion, Kotor, Fallout, BG and Planescape is dumb IMO. Our games are made for grown ups, theirs are made for kids or grownups that wish they were kids.

Thats a very rude generalisation Perry L, Blue Dragon has a graphic theme which fit your description, but the other Mist Walker game "Lost Odyssey", which is the real japanese xbox360 RPG killer-app. Is obviously targeted adults juts check out the trailer, which is kick ass by the way.
P.S. Blue Dragon could be O.K if it has fun combat system, but the char designs and envireoments look boring.
