Master Cheif should be played by... no one. Just some big dude in a suit and keep the voice actor from the game.

If M.C. had to take off his helmet, after seeing that representation, I think Denzel would be the man for the job. Otherwise, I think they should just do simply voice overs.

To be true to the halo story, there should be no face to the chief, only a voice, and the current voice would be just fine. So it really shoulnt matter who the actor is. If they do decide to show his face, I dont want to be reminded of any previous roles, so a new face would be best. Having denzel tied to the role by rumor is a good thing. It shows that the people associated with this movie are serious about it, or at least the press is treating it as a serious big movie role.

I could definitely see Washington as Sgt. A.J., what about either the Transporter guy or Vin Diesel as Master Cheif (they might both be better suited for the Agent 47 role, though).

I just have to take back what I said about either Transporter guy or Vin Diesel ... they're really shouldn't be a face, and if there is, it should be a new actor...#2 and 4 are abs. correct. ... there is however, one other option...anyone remember??

Actor? Hell, I didn't even know that visor opened. The voice needs to be the same as the game, the guy in the suit doesn't matter much as long as the suit moves like we expect Master Chief to move.

How dare anyone suggest Vin Disel or anyone similar for that matter when the rumor suggests Denzel as the lead? Denzel is an award winning actor. With him as the lead this movie would grab the attention of people other than Halo gamers. How many of you would really be pissed by the fact that MC is played by Denzel, and I dont mean because its not the game voice or that his face is not some new guy?

I can't see Denzel as Master Chief even if you never see his face. He doesn't have the right swagger for MC. Viggo Mortensen would make a better Master Chief and I vote for Carl Weathers (Predator-style) as Sgt. Johnson.

Does it matter? you never see the chiefs face and he rarely talks. In my opinion they should do what george lucas did for vader and have two actors for the part. the first actor only needs to fit the physical attributes (7ft tall etc.) and then steve downes, the current voice of the chief, could do a voice over. people would never know the distance

I agree that Denzel is a perfectly respectable actor and could probably play the role well. There is the issue that John 117 is supposed to be white (ghostly pale, in fact) but rewrites aren't uncommon for adaptations.

And hey, if we're talking albino white, how about Paul Bettany? He made a pretty good albino in the Da Vinci Code :)

Like said already...Master Chief is white and Denzel is black...idk it will work....BUT...if the chief dosent show his face it would work....i think it should just be the guy who does the voice for the Chief.
