Splinter Cell maps causing problems on 360s

Despite a five-month delay on new Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory maps, all is not well. Some Xbox 360 users are reporting problems with the update, some going so far as to say the new maps make Splinter Cell unplayable. Fortunately, there's a workaround, but it involves deleting all your saved games in the process.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory wasn't included in the original backwards compatibility list, but has since made it in--perhaps this is related to the problems some 360 owners are having with the new content. Either way, with months of testing, it's surprising to see this sort of bugginess.

This is why I keep the old Xbox around... to play old games... the emulation on 360 is horrific and that's just sad...

And it will probably will always be that way..

I agree with you, crazy, but in a year or two at the most the xbox will be obsolete. So who cares.

While the 360 is an amazing piece of hardware it follows a philosophy so completely different that I guess its just nearly impossible to make all of the games work well. I just played Jade Empire on it and watched the cutscenes bog down to a crawl and some of the combat too.

i'm sure MS will work out some, if not most, of the issues. they never expected the BC to be perfect and even with months of testing there's no way they could've completely tested all 200+ games (don't forget the Euro and Asian versions) completely. for the time put into it, they did a pretty impressive job i think, and i assume it'll mostly get better as they start to identify some of the shortcomings.

I also cannot stand the BC of 360. it has only given me bad framerates and poor sound (with weird glitches in the sound of some games). I take that back- Halo and Halo2 run fine, but that is it out of my collection.

I haven't had any problems when I've SC:CT on my 360 online, so I'm not sure what problems people are experiencing. I looks and plays great.

In regards to the new maps, I haven't downloaded them yet, so I'm not sure there but I was having problems with Live last night. It seems stats weren't being tracked in Chaos Theory. Still had tons of fun though.

Despite the spawn killing possibility available in the new Polar Base map, I'm starting to really enjoy it.
