EGM set to reveal first GoW2 multiplayer footage
Fake EGM GoW2 details mention stamina bar and new multiplayer modes [update]
Update: Rumor official debunked. Cliff Bleszinski popped up on the NeoGAF forums to discredit these supposed EGM GoW2 details saying that whoever published this news is "making shit up". Thanks for the clarification Cliffy. We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of EGM's special July issue featuring Gears of War 2 awesomeness that's set to hit newsstands on June 3rd. But, if the rumors are true, we won't have to wait until June to get the new feature reveals, because a helpful EGM subscriber claims to have already received his July issue and has spilled all the exclusive Gears 2 deets.
Over on the GameSpot forums, member Prosecut0rGodot claims to have already received a copy of EGM's July issue and posted a recap of all the new Gears 2 details that were revealed. If true, EGM is said to reveal new GoW2 features including co-op specific cut-scenes and decisions that'll affect the game's ending, a brand new stamina bar has been added and will dictate a player's performance, a never before seen "Acheron" Locust creature will make an appearance and two new multiplayer modes were announced including the chainsaws only "En-Garde" mode. A few other goodies were supposedly revealed, so make your way towards the break to read the entire list of the rumored GoW2 info.

Halo 3 impressions from 1UP and EGM

That issue of EGM isn't even out yet and the Halo 3 hype train keeps a' rolling. The editors of EGM/1UP have posted some of their thoughts and impressions of their visit to Bungie. Though they don't give away anything that hasn't already been leaked, they do announce that they definitely liked what they saw. Dan Hsu makes a time honored point, noting that the graphics weren't "that impressive for an Xbox 360 game," but it was so fun that it didn't matter. He goes on to say that he doesn't want to go back to Halo 2 now that he has been spoiled by this (pre-alpha) build of Halo 3. Mark MacDonald probably gives the most concrete info, giving speculators and Halo fanatics something to chew on.
"I very rarely dual-wielded in the few hours we got to play Halo 3, and after some early experimentation, I mostly stuck with the Assault Rifle. I'd pick up a Battle Rifle or Shotgun if I had the chance, but unless I was super close or far from a target, the AR suited me just fine. More than fine. OK I f*king love the assault rifle. It might as well be an entirely new weapon. (I hope they don't mess with it too much between now and the final game.)"
He goes on to discuss some of the new weapons, the new maps, and the overall candor of the Bungie team. Fans slavering for info would best be served to read his impressions first. The last impression comes from Luke Smith, who paints Halo as his Mario. His is more nostalgia and hope than the factual accounts of the other two. Still, if you love Halo, or hearing people wax romantic about videogames, give it a read.
So, with all this pre-hyped hype, has anybody actually gotten the new EGM yet?

Bungie don't want no stinkin' scans

Bungie is cracking down on scanned images from gaming magazines with stuff on Halo 3. They're threatening to ban anyone who links or posts offending pics/ transcriptions to their forums for life. Merely mentioning the subject gets you a week. While I'm sure everyone understands their need to protect copyrighted material (There has to be some reason to pay $6 for EGM right?) it's sad that the dead tree media has to be so uptight in this information age, especially since all people want to do is hype Bungie's product . Luckily, you can still read the issue for free at 7-11 until the clerk yells at you.

MGS4 on the Xbox 360? [Updated]
Most of us were so busy gabbing about the Halo 3 cover story in the December issue of EGM, we failed to notice the "Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?" headline in the upper right corner. Any subscribers care to elaborate?[Update]
Che Chou, a former 1up staffer now working on Forza 2 for MS posted this response in the NeoGaf forums (Via Xboxic):
It's simply a rumor that Konami higher-ups are pressuring Kojima Productions to consider making MGS4 a multiplatform game because production costs on the game are unsurprisingly high and only getting higher. With PS3 install base numbers not looking all that rosy due to console cost and manufacturing problems, Konami is scared they can't recoup their investment on only 1 platform alone.
It's also a nice way to maybe blackmail Sony into giving Konami an incentive to keeping the game a PS3 exclusive, imo.
Whatever the case, I highly doubt it's going to happen so quit building yourself a disappointing kiloton bomb.
Either way, it's fun to see the PS3 fanboys sweat over losing their most prized exclusive.

EGM dry humps Halo 3 before Nov. 14th issue

Consider this teaser a preliminary dry humping, because next month, we'll get to see venerable video game mag Electronic Gaming Monthly "f***ing Halo 3!" Those are their words, folks. We're not sure what form this issue will take, but we imagine centerfolds of Cortana, with her accompanying likes and dislikes (likes: holographic projectors, dislikes: Gravemind's grabby tentacles), wrapped up neatly in an opaque brown sleeve, and tucked away on the tallest shelf of your local convenient store. The December issue -- in which Bungie "breaks their silence" -- oughta hit newstands November 14th, which means we should hear all about the naughty goings-on well before then ...
... on second thought, I'm not sure we read that right.
High-res Too Human magazine scans reappear

Those scans from this May's EGM featuring tons of Too Human coverage that we posted about last week, and had already been taken down, have (unsurprisingly) cropped up elsewhere on the internets.
If you didn't think Too Human was ambitious before, prepare to read a compelling argument otherwise. If you're familiar with Silicon Knights' Denis Dyack, you already know his interests are varied; Too Human ranges from Norse mythology, Nietzsche, and Shakespeare to God of War, Metroid, Zelda, and Phantasy Star Online.

Too Human gets cover treatment in May's EGM

Turns out those small shots of Too Human that we linked to last week were from a print mag, May's issue of EGM to be precise. Silicon Knights' upcoming title -- part of a planned trilogy and one of the much anticipated "second-wave" of 360 games -- gets some real VIP treatment, with a dozen pages of coverage, including the cover and the table of contents.
Super fansite TooHuman.net got their hands on high-res scans of the entire spread but, as to be expected, were asked by the powers that be to remove them. They are still hosting the low-res camera shots ... though I'm going blind trying to read that text.
