As the reviews slowly roll in and decisions are made about whether or not to purchase the game, Ninja Gaiden 2's demo has yet to see release to the Marketplace. For some time now, the game's xbox.com page had a message for its readers, telling them to: "Get your hands on the free demo coming to Xbox LIVE Marketplace in May."
While it is true that May isn't over until the end of the week, the xbox.com page no longer has the message promising the demo's arrival, and instead points readers to the Ask a Ninja videos. This could mean a host of things really: the demo has been held up, or it's not coming at all, or it's coming but the page has been changed early. In all honesty we hope for the latter, because after getting our hands on it we can't wait to do it again!
As real-time strategy games have their moment in the sun on the Xbox 360, the question of control always lingers. Can a controller simulate a mouse and keyboard properly to play an RTS?
The answer is no. It can't. That's why developers are rethinking the way RTS games handle on consoles and so far they've been pretty successful. Now the question is based on speed. Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath introduces a new scheme to the mix hoping to correct that problem with the new Command Stick. Promising to reduce the amount of clicking required to complete simple tasks like building your base and training new units, the Command Stick is expected to speed up the overall experience of the console RTS.
The video is embedded in low quality above, but for those purists who need to see it in HD jump over to Big Download and download the full trailer in its high-resolution hotness.
In the past we've brought you a few of the coolest sound clips from Crackdown and the Xbox 360. Today, our good friend Major Nelson posted the hidden orb sound clip for you to download in three exciting flavors. Yes, it's short, it's simplistic, but it still warms our Crackdown gaming soul. And remember, you can still grab the infamous agility orb and the 360's achievement unlocked sound clips for your downloading pleasure. Now quit whining about not being able to get your hands on the hidden orb sound clip and download it ... you know who you are.
Last month we furnished you with the agility orb sound clip from Crackdown and today we have another clip for your downloading pleasure. The generous Major Nelson went out of his way to get the community a clip of the greatest sound that has ever graced the Xbox 360 ... the achievement unlocked sound. It's short and sweet, but any fanboy will know that this sound can make grown men break down in tears. This sound makes us gamers froth from the mouth, perspire profusely, and shake violently all because we know our gamerscore just increased. It's truly that enjoyable. So, be sure to download it and feel free to share with us how you'll be using your new achievement unlocked sound clip.
Fans of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will take comfort in knowing that new downloadable content is on its way. Back when the game released those who pre-ordered received a special invitation to the VIP section of the Ultimate Alliance website. The VIP community has since come to an end, but not without a thank you from global brand manager Daniel Jhung. In his thank you to the community, Jhung hints at upcoming downloadable content saying that they are "working on the release of some truly awesome Xbox Live downloadable content for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, scheduled for later this Spring". There you have it Marvel fans, mysterious downloadable content in a few months straight from Mr. Jhung himself.
Major Nelson just posted that with today's release of Crackdown you'll be able to download four new agents for free via the XBLM. Yes, downloadable content for a game before it officially can be purchased at retail! You can check out a preview of the new agents above (full-size pictures on IGN's forums) and to us they look like a ghetto Chuck Norris, a ninja, a Killzone dude, and a cyborg. Be sure to note that this is a perfect example of why some developers outshine others, because they actually care about the consumer and support their games. Thumbs up to you Realtime Worlds, we hope our little Crackdown honeymoon lasts forever.
As part of Microsoft's Let's Play on Valentines Day celebration not only are they urging fellow gardeners to trade piñatas, but also posted some downloadable goodies too. Over at the official Viva Piñata website they put up a few downloadable wallpapers for you to send to your loved one or to simply spiff up your own desktop. And for those of you who are in a relationship, remember this Wednesday is Valentines Day. Forget the candy and flowers, just snuggle up for a nice romantic four hour Viva Piñata gaming session. You just can't get much more romantic than that.
It took me three friggin' days to download the Saints Row demo with two unexplained drops that failed to pick up where they left off. Now after 13 miserable hours, Dead Rising is at a mere 34% complete (How did we live with this before the dashboard update?). Are other people out there experiencing similar looooooong waits for their recent downloads?
The title says it all folks. Check out this new premium content available on Xbox Live for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Major Nelson gives us the word: Uncover a famous pirate's lost ship and claim it for your own. Designed for stealth-based characters. The "Thieves Den" content will run you for about 150 points, or less than two bucks. But with it, you won't ever have to pay for an inn again! More details are available at the website.
At the THQ area, they were proudly showing off their incredibly gorgeous Moto GP '06. This title shines bright and controls very well for the Xbox 360. Despite not even being played on a retail console, the demo was enough to satisfy my need for speed.
