Saints Slow

It took me three friggin' days to download the Saints Row demo with two unexplained drops that failed to pick up where they left off. Now after 13 miserable hours, Dead Rising is at a mere 34% complete (How did we live with this before the dashboard update?). Are other people out there experiencing similar looooooong waits for their recent downloads?

1. Nope, my Dead Rising demo zipped(if you can say that) in at 2 hours or so. Your connection must blow. :S

2. Saint Row downloaded with an hour and Dead rising 1.5 hours. Maybe it's a regional issue? I'm based in UK with Gold live and a 4mb broadband connection.

Personally I feel the Xbox live servers have improved alot since E3.

3. it takes me like 30 minutes to download a 1 gig demo.

4. I downloaded both pretty quickly. Saint's Row took me about 30-45 minutes and Dead Rising took me just about an hour. If you want Saint's Row quicker, just go pick up the Official Xbox Magazine - they have a demo of it with the mag.

5. No problems here.

Saints Row took about an hour and Dead Rising was around 2 hours.

6. Some broadband providers are using traffic shapping, which limits the speed on big downloads... What's your provider?

Posted at 1:50PM on Aug 5th 2006 by Traffic Shapping

7. I downloaded the demo of Saints Row as well, it only took about 40min to an hour to download for me. Rather your having connection issues, or just have bad luck.

8. dead rising only took 45 mins or so.

11. 13 minutes each at 6:30 pm east (time I get home from work).....The only thing that has ever taken long to download was GRAW chapter 2 on the first day.

12. yeah you must have a really sucky connection, it took me 30 minutes to download the Saits Row demo and 45 to download the Dead Rising demo.

13. Also, the only time I had real long download times was during E3 2006, when the servers were swapped due to the Halo 3 trailer and other content they released. Other than that, I never had any issues myself.

14. Your ISP is a bitch. There, I said it.

Posted at 2:12PM on Aug 5th 2006 by Erik

15. Yah, took me about 6 hrs for the dead rising demo, but just over an hour for the table tenis demo.

16. I live in the UK, and downloaded both of them within 1 hour. I have an 8Mbps connection, so nothing fancy.

Posted at 2:18PM on Aug 5th 2006 by Sid

17. Even with the E3 stuff.. the longest a download took me was 15 mins otherwise everything downloads within 5 to 10 mins.

18. My saints row and dead rising demo both took 2 days each! But just about an hour ago i downloaded the Dead Or Alive demo (in about 40minutes)!
Weird maybe because loads were downloading over the last few days why its taken so long!

19. Took like 30 min for each demo for me. Maybe your internet connection sucks...

Posted at 2:27PM on Aug 5th 2006 by MintyMonkey

20. Both demos clocked in at under an hour for me. I downloaded Dead Rising on release day, too. I was pretty impressed with the speed.

Those of you having issues, are you using DSL? Cable? Dialup? ;-)
