In
other release date delay news, we've just learned that Monlith's
Project Origin (the true sequel to
F.E.A.R.) will not make it to retail shelves anytime this year and is tentatively planned for a Q1 2009 release. The delay news comes from Lith's art lead Dave Matthews who confirmed during Leipzig that they'll release
Project Origin on multiple platforms in early '09. Though, you you just can't wait, you can always catch a glimpse of Alma and all the bloody violence later this week during PAX where we're told it'll be
demoed on stage.

...And again, as with Left 4 Dead, this is actually GOOD news. As much of a survival/horror gaming fan that I am (I just reserved my copy of Silent Hill Homecoming today), I've been overlooking Project Origin completely.
Now that I know I can look forward to it as a 'gaming island' within the month of January instead of looking for residence someplace within the already crowded Oct/Nov/Dec timeframe, and give it the time and attention it may deserve.
...That's also a reason I'm really happy Silent Hill Homecoming is coming out September 30th. It's just early enough to escape the insanity of the Oct 20th- Nov 20th rush-hour.

I absolutely loved the first game and find the delay to be good news. Now when it comes out I can devote the attention to it that it deserves, instead of having to choose between it and another game.
