One of our, surprisingly, most anticipated titles of 2008 happens to be the latest installment in the Alone in the Dark series. Taking advantage of our suspiciously piqued interest for the game, Atari has announced and detailed a special edition that will release along side the standard package. Included in the over-sized box edition is the game (duh!), making of documentary, CD soundtrack (8 tracks), art book and a figurine of in game hero Edward Carnby.
While no price has been confirmed for the special edition, this package would be a steal for an extra $10. Here's hoping the special edition price-point doesn't dim the lights on our bank account when it releases this summer.

Wait... no lighter fluid and matches? If I can't start burning stuff right out of the box, I'm not picking this up. :D
Figurine, huh? Of some dude, in a REALLY cool leather jacket... It's no Big Daddy. Meh.

As far as I know they've only announced this for Europe specifically, right? I just wonder if other places might see different items.

W00t! Must get! I have the standard AITD reserved already; been waiting for a collector's somethingorother:)
Now, my next hope is for a collector's edition thingamabob for Silent Hill: Homecoming (The newly titled Silent Hill 5.)
I'd want a soundtrack, maybe a sweet rusty-lookin' t-shirt..
And ya know what would rock?..one of those gaming keychains that have sound bytes. One could be the Darkness sirens, another could be the Red Pyramid blade scrape, an Armless shamble sound effect, some stuff from the new game and the theme song, perhaps..
that'd be cool..
(Hey, Japan gets that sort of thing all the time!)

I hope this gets confirmed for America. I would definitely pay twenty dollars more for this CE. As long as it is less than the Legendary Edition's price I'll be willing to pay for it. Lets just hope the game is good, so far my only problem is with the look of the main character.

That seems like a hefty special edition. I have a feeling it may be more than $10 or $20 though, but perhaps not.
I agree that the Halo Legendary Edition was crazy expensive (especially after the price raise), but I don't reget getting mine at all. Although, I have seen Legendary Editions at my local Gamestop for $79.99 now.
