Wow. It's real. We mean, really real. Sure, for months we've been reading, writing and thinking of nothing but Grand Theft Auto IV but it's only hitting us now that the title is only a few days away. Thanks to a user on the GTAForums we have confirmation that the title is hitting retailers, presumably to prepare for launch events. The special edition above comes in an over-sized box that includes the game, lock box, soundtrack and duffel bag. With only seven days standing between you and virtual carjacking bliss we ask, are you ready?

I've been blazing through a bunch of my backlog so that I don't feel guilty committing the next month or two to GTA. My Halo3 and COD4 online play will also be stymied in favor of some cops and robbers action.

A game as big as this, i'll expect it to be leaked onto usenet within 12-15 hours of being with retailers, and then of course it'll be highly seeded on regular torrents within 24 hours.
basically, expect to see the game all over the web in about a day, i do.

I've had this on pre-order since January because I thought it was going to come out in March. Its good though that they pushed it back to work on it; all worth the wait from the previews I see. Problem now is I got finals so I'm either going to fail my finals or hold off on playing GTA...decisions, decisions.

Yeah, 3 weeks of finals coming up a week after launch. Also I have had this preordered since August because it was supposed to come out in october and i preordered it before they changed the release date. Do I get the prize for the longest preorder? Maybe like a gamerpic or something...??? Gee, thanks.

Crackdown ruined me for the previous GTA titles. With that said, I'm REALLY JAZZED that you can scale any climb-able building in GTA IV!
I don't expect superhuman jumping, but one of the first things I'll at least ATTEMPT to do next Tuesday morning is scale the Liberty City versions of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler skyscraper.
