Now that Left 4 Dead has been confirmed as being console exclusive to 360, it's time that we really saw some screens and read someones hands-on impressions. The folks over at shacknews got their grubby little paws on the game and have given it an (unsurprisingly) glowing preview. For those not following it, the game's situation is similar to a cross between Dead Rising and typical FPS multiplayer. Your and your teammates' goal is survive against a hoard of zombies while other players (or AI characters, depending) control the legions of zombies attempting to make a meal of you. The concept sounds awesome, and with a release target of August/September, the game should have plenty of time before the winter glut to take hold.

Dude, you haven't even played it. Graphics quality is not just 'how it looks.' It's also how it moves, and how many entities can be rendered in motion at once. So save your worthless criticism until you actually have something to criticize.

that's probably because it's built on the Source Engine...

If having graphics only as good as Half-Life 2 justifies anyones reason for not buying a game, then that's just fucking lame.

I really want this game..but at the same time I'm very skeptical on just how well it will work going by the mass amount of retards on Live.
Probably will buy i just hope it'll work out well.

Mark - what, so I can play with the mass amounts of retards on the PC?
I'll stick with the 360 version, I have a group of friends (who are, not surprisingly, not retarded) that I know will enjoy getting this game into our lineup.

Really not that difficult to find four decent people to play with.

I never said it was but at the same time once in awhile you find yourself without a party and going in Solo, or perhaps the zombies are human players that you don't know?
All I'm saying is new game types (see Kane and Lynch) that seem decent, sometimes turn out crap. Especially when you have a community like Live.

Well, Official Xbox Magazine did a pretty extensive write up in the March issue. I believe they had some hands on time with the game as well. 4 player co-op, the game will adjust difficulty on the fly, and zombies(you can't go wrong with the undead). Sounds cool to me.

This game is gonna be awesome! Who doesn't want to blast away zombies by the hundreds with a group of friends? I was a fan of the Resident Evil Online games, but it really sucked not being able to talk with your teammates. Now with Live, its gonna be way better and with the zombies being able to run in the game, sounds like the battles are going to be more intense.
And I'm getting a little tired deathmatch gametypes. This will be a nice change of pace. Kinda like Gears of War co-op, but with 4 people! and zombies!!!

I've been waiting for a long time for a co-op survival zombie game. Resident Evil Online didn't do it for me, I've been very excited about this since information about it started to trickle out a few months ago.

This must take place within the first 24-48 hours of zombie over-run because that city looks very much alive.

Ok, I only bothered to view a handful of images and it looked like it was hardly pushing boundaries in terms of graphics. This was a first impression of how the game looks, of course graphics are down to how the game moves...
wait I don't feel the need to justify myself, so basically you rule and i'm a c**t.
cheers

looks great. too bad there isn't like 4 vs 4 player co-op vs. the zombies. or more multiplayer other than 4 vs. 4.

This is Valve publishing... target release dates mean little. Which means it is probably going to hit in December.

Welp... Until I saw these screenies I was really looking forward to it... but what's that I see?
Hoards of -running- zombies.
No thanks. Zombies don't run. I don't care what the remake of Dawn of the Dead says. They don't run.

i see there is some pc hatred in the air, but i simply want to nod in the direction of steam whose free mod entitled 'Zombie Panic! Source' is basically the groundwork for Left 4 Dead. This is only directed towards those who did not know, and want to get in some playing time...or get a feel for the atmosphere, etc.
