Gasp! Duke Nukem Forever trailer releases today!

Potato pancakes and waffle fries! 3D Realms announced on their forums (which are currently down due to excessive bandwidth usage) that today, Wednesday, December 19th they'll be releasing a brand new Duke Nukem Forever teaser trailer ... you hear that? A Duke Nukem Forever teaser trailer! According to the forum post, the 3D Realms crew showed off the teaser at their annual company Christmas party and they all agreed that the masses needed to see it. The trailer should be available by 1:00PM eastern and you know that we and the world can't wait. So, for the time being, gush over the official 3D Realms released DNF screen-grab above. Vaporware, what?

I'll believe DNF will come out when I buy it, install it on my computer, and see it with my own eyes.

Over 10 years from when the game was announced we get the "teaser" trailer. So I figure by 2013 we will get a trailer with gameplay footage. And in 2025 we will get to play Duke Nukem (It Took) Forever on our XBox 1440.

"showed off the teaser at their annual company Christmas party and they all agreed that the masses needed to see it. "
Failed to mention that this was their Dec 1999 Christmas Party.

I genuinely can't believe anyone still gives a shit about Duke Nukem, a franchise that hasn't been relevant for what, a decade? If this game is anything short of revolutionary, it has failed.

Who can come up with the best usage of the DNF acronym for DNF? My favorites are: (the currently accurate) "Did Not Finish" and (the probable replacement) "Does Not Function"

You'll have to up the stakes, there are Canadians, Brits and other people with real money reading this blog. $10 barely buys a toothpick outside of the US.

Good point, I read an article where this bum on a street in Morocco got pissed-off when an American tourist gave them a dollar. They said, "What is this? What will this do for me? NOTHING!" and ripped it up and spat on them. Ha ha ha...cough. Thanks Bush, those Reaganomics clearly work... strong dollar my ass. Did anyone actually listen to the things he promised.

Anyways, enough ranting. I suppose you're right. So I've increased that to $10 CA. Haha, I can't believe I said that, but yes I bet you Ten Canadian Dollars.

Well damn, I just checked it out. Seems the US$ has bounced back in regards to the Canadian Dollar. 1 US$ = 1.0036 CA$

I really want to see it make it into stores. I really want it to do well.

But I think my memories of a game I loved playing will simply not hold up to the test of time. I'll be more than happy to eat those words if they get this right.

There's been footage of the game at various stages in its development across more than one engine. That's what makes this all so odd... it's the only game I can think of that we've gotten to see in so many different formats. And over that time they've talked about so many innovations that other games beat them to the punch for over and over again.

I don't really care when the game comes out (it's really inevitable), but I do wonder how the hell 3D Realms has enough money to spend all this time with this game.

Wow that actually looks really, especially since that was 2001. I didn't realize that much gameplay footage existed.

Best part was fighting on the donkey....followed by the old geezer saying "HeHeHe, You think them sunglasses make you look cool or something?" and the stripper in the background, haha, good shit.
