With the release of The Orange Box fast approaching, we're itching to get all the info we can about its delicious contents. We're probably most excited for the collection's multiplayer offering, Team Fortress 2. So far, we've been enamored of the clever character class videos that Valve has released, but we haven't seen too much focus on how these various classes actually play. Enter Eurogamer, with a video of our personal favorite, the engineer. The video pretty much covers the things you'll be doing as an engineer, namely building things and dropping fools with your shotgun. Unfortunately, Eurogamer doesn't support embedded videos, so you'll have to leave the comfy confines of X3F to view it. We know it can be scary, but we also know that you can do it. Go ahead, click that "read" link. It's not nearly as scary as it seems.

Anyone pick this up for the PC yet? if you pre-order The Orange Box you can start playing TF2 "Beta"- which is essentially the final game seeing as how its set to be released next week. Preorder is only $45 bucks. $15 off of the Xbox version isnt too shabby.

Looks to be pretty fun and in-depth, but I'll probably still be playing Halo 3 or getting elite in R6:V until November and Cod4, Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect come out. But still, it's like 3-4 games in one box depending on how you count it.

been playing for a few weeks now Mauricio. It's great. I would have to call TF2 a sleeper hit of the year. It's going to be huge when it drops. The gameplay is simple yet it has lots to offer from a team strategy standpoint.

Well, if you've been playing on PC, you'd already know how the classes play.. I won't be getting it for the 360 for a while (not buying both PC and Xbox versions at once) but I've been playing in the beta and it seems pretty good so far.

@isn - yeah, i agree, sleeper hit. the gameplay is really good. Having to use a different strategy for each class on each map is great. It makes for lots of gameplay.
btw - my mouse skills are NOWHERE near as good as the Quake3 days. =(
@AndrewNeo- yeah iim kinda forced into buying both PC and Xbox versions becuse i wanted to play early so i bought the pc version but everyone i know is on an Xbox so i'll pick it up when thats available next week.

I wouldn't call it shitty, massive battles on Sandtrap or Valhalla can only be done on H3. Let alone Forge and saved films where you can see exactly how I owned you.
I'm sure Orange Box will be a good game, but I won't buy it ;)

Massive turds are still turds. I was hoping for a game to hold me over until CoD4 and Halo did not deliver.
Orange Box will hopefully rectify the situation.

In case anyone hadn't seen this yet, they have the Heavy Weapons guy video with the guy speaking his native language of Russian. The lips have been re-sync'd and there are english subtitles on the video. It's interesting to see the dialogue translated into russian and then translated back to english again. =)
