XCM's latest product is a clear Xbox 360 case that not only displays the console's temperature digitally but, get this, color codes the increasing temp too. The Hot Rock Case's digital thermometer keeps track of the internal temp and every four degrees it goes up, the LEDs change colors too. From orange to green to blue, the case is kind of like a color coded warning system. It's quite the interesting idea, but we're not sure what we're supposed to do when our console starts uncontrollably flashing red. What we do know is that calling Microsoft for help isn't going to solve anything, because they sort of look down on things like replacing your 360's case.

Itd be cool if the ring of light changed color too, even that being modded alone would look nice.
By the way, which one of those degrees is the normal/safe temperature in fairenheit

I, on the other hand, would like a reverse 360 case mod. A case with a big red button on the outside that says do not push. If I ever get pissed when Im playing Gears of War I will push the button and then thermite will be ignited to completely erase all existence of the machine whatsoever. Would any of you buy that if I manufacture it?

Funny. Anything above 48 degree is considered dangerous!! My normal CPU temp is 44 and my gfx card easily goes above 60 and it works fine for hours on end.
Funny. I love 360 though.

Man that case sounds awesome, however; like they said Microsoft does look down on customers who modify their products a little. At the very least though it is very cool accessory... i would buy it any word on the price????

Honestly, I don't know how it would do you much good unless you also knew someone who would fix it outside of warranty if it was starting to overheat regularly... and I sure don't.

From their photos, the color progression on the temperatures are really odd, as it heats up it goes from orange all the way to red, passing purple, teal, green and blue on it's way up the thermometer. Wouldn't blue/green/yellow/orange/red be a bit easier to interpret?
I'm already in a constant state of panic after having lost my Homeland Security Color Decoder Ring, I'm not sure I'd have the patience to sit and interpret my 360's slightly mango-mauve glow.

Good idea, but I'd like the temp display on the front like, between the power button and the disk drive so I can see it without having to get up and go look for it. Every day that goes by without a RROD on my 16 month old 360 makes me debate putting more/better fans in it. I just wish there was a way to get a quieter DVD-drive.
