This week's Video Marketplace offerings

The (United States exclusive) Xbox Live Video Marketplace is flourishing with stacks and stacks of movies being released each week. And, as expected, this week didn't let us down with over twenty new movies and a handful of TV shows added to the list. Big exciting HD movies like Letters From Iwo Jima, Good German, and Undead. Okay, we haven't heard of all the exciting new movies, but they're in HD so we love 'em all the same. Complete list of new Video Marketplace content is posted after the break including TV offerings. Now only if we could find some extra Microsoft points laying around so we could rent Dr. T and the Woman to see what that's all about.

Dr. T is one of Robert Altman's...we'll call it one of his lesser movies. Watch it only if you've already seen Nashville, Gosford Park, MASH, The Player, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the video marketplace and I can't wait to watch Letters from Iwo Jima, but is it just me, or does this seem to be the dumping ground for movies that nobody ever watched in the first place?

As a PS3 fanboy I am actually really jealous of the vid downloading service on live. Do you have to pay for the movies and shows?

We have to pay, but it's like a dollar a rental. Not even that really. It's better than netflix or the blockbuster thing.

i love the hd movies for less than 5$. HD movies typically run 240MSP which translates to 3.00US$. It's a killer deal.

its not that great of a deal... atleast compared to netflix/blockbuster online. i for one and hoping ms fixes this soon and allows us to sign up for netflix style subscription and pay a flat rate for "x" movies at a time.

[Mandatory complaint about US only service]

It's too bad we pay the same amount for less of a product. :\
