The official Two Worlds website revealed today that the Xbox 360 version has been delayed. Though a reason has not been given, we know that the game will not be releasing alongside its PC cousin on May 9th. The official website does note, however, that the console development "ran like clockwork" and that the final product "leaves nothing to be desired." In other words, it sounds like the game is being held up by the publishers, not development. Of further interest, according to the Two Worlds site, a German magazine by the name of 360 Live has given Two Worlds a 9.3 out of 10 saying, "A fantastic RP experience, full of life and ideas... who would ever have thought that Oblivion could be dethroned so fast? This Two Worlds is indeed a worthy successor!!"
Any Oblivion player will tell you, those are hefty words of praise. It will be some time before 360 owners can judge the veracity of this review, as a new release date has not been set.

I'm thoroughly interested in this game, but I'm not pissed off. I can wait. I'm patient. I'm not gonna download horse armor because I'm bored. Nope. That Orrery DLC, though... Awful tempting... And Mehrune's Razor sounds like it... might... be... fun...
GODDAMNIT, HURRY UP AND RELEASE TWO WORLDS OR I'LL BE SPENDING FIFTY BUCKS IN GAMERPOINTS ON HALF ASSED OBLIVION CONTENT!

It says that the console version is delayed in Europe. Does that mean that Americans will still get it on May 9th?
Really the longer this game is pushed back, the easier it'll be for me to skip it entirely for Mass Effect, Blue Dragon and the rest of the 360's RPG onslaught.

The American release date has been June 26th for quite some time now. I know the North America's release date on their publishers (SouthPeak) site has said 6/26 for atleast a month now.

I'm no expert, but that has got to be the same engine Oblivion runs on at work in this game. If so, feh, because it's one of the worst written engines in the history of the world.

Oh... yea... sorry about that. I wrote that engine... yea that engine was written by me. I suck at engine-writing... I'll try to do a better job with the writing of the engines in the future, m'kay? Thaaaanx....

There wasn't a single reputable gaming publication or website that released a pre-release review of Oblivion, was there?
Most sites (even IGN!) weren't out with thier reviews until at least a week after the retail release. When a game is that big, it takes a while to complete...
So where do these Germans get to cajones to post a review for a game that's still two months out, when every other outlet on the planet is offering only previews that say the game needs work?
Makes you wonder about somebody's credibility - or at least think that review was bought and paid for by somebody else.

@Stranger, what is this 2 months out you speak of? It's, as you pointed out, a German review. The game releases may 9th in Europe, as the article and other posters have pointed out... just not on 360 on may 9th apparently.

I had no idea this game was due out so soon. So I was pleasantly surprised and sorely disappointed all at the same time.

yeah most websites changed the release date to late june a while back, so no big surprise there. I can't wait for this game. I've run oblivion into the ground.

Looks better than the mild-flavored Oblivion to me.. but it's not on my radar, so I can wait.

Anyone who would say Oblivion has a lousy engine or that it was mild- flavored must've been a crack baby. The game is awesome it has a huge world to cover so yeah it's glitchy, but then so are alot of other games. Two-Wolrds looks like a good game, I can't wait to try it.
