Microsoft has announced that that the Xbox 360 will go on sale in India this October. The launch is fortuitously timed to precede a major Hindu holiday. According to Wikipedia, Diwali (or Deepvali) is a 5 day Hindu festival celebrated in October/November. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil. Lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. Of course, It's also a good exscuse to blow 23,990 Rupees on a Premium System. Time to light up that green ring India.

(Page 1)2. I am guessing the price is more comparable to how $400 would be in the US. I am not sure. But I wonder how popular the Indian gaming community is, but its a good thing that Microsoft is trying to release the Xbox 360 in a wide variety of countries.
Also, I doubt Microsoft will be supporting a non-English language there, theres WAY too many languages there ^^;. Wikipedia literally lists that they have 23 different official languages, but their government use English and Hindi universally. I also doubt that the Xbox team would add Hindi to the language selection though, since quite abit of them understand English and not all of them understand Hindi.

1. Damn that's expensive!! Since I might be going there at the end of the year, I figured I'd do some currency conversion, and it comes to approx. 515 USD!! That's ridiculous.
