NCAA 07 demo kicks off on XBLM

Alright, enough with the headbutting Frenchmen. Time for some red-blooded American pigskin action, in the form of the NCAA Football 07 demo, now available on XBLM. Last year's rushed EA Sports games for the 360 were disappointly bare bones. After giving this demo the old college try, do you feel better about the prospects for their 07 line-up?

3. Thankfully I found it hardier then Madden, I even went into 4th overtime at 14 to 14,but decided it was too late and quit for the night

I hate the new kicking function, and the commentaery is meh

4. That's not alot of content for the size of the demo..... 1.05 Gig.. for 2 teams, and one stadium?

5. And no settings changes, no uniform changes, no online. What the hell is all of the storgae for. Also, the gameplay was absolutely horrible. I'm going to have to pick it up for PS2. What the hell is it with the 360 and shitty sports games?

6. Can it be downloaded in the UK?

7. Revadarth - i am sure its the same game for ps2 as for xbox 360 just with better graphics on 360. i havent played it so i cant say if its good or bad but if you dont like it on system you probably wont on another.

8. Is it me or does Madden 06 look better than this game? You'd think they would be working off the same engine...

9. I just played it, and I think that it is solid. Most were calling it the best sports game at E3- I would agree. Maden seemed rushed- this looks good so far.

10. #7 - NCAA games have never looked as good much less better than the Madden games. They use similar but not exactly the same engines. They also have different resource budgets when you consider that the NCAA team has 117+ teams and stadiums vs Madden's 32 teams.

11. I think its solid. Graphically its impressive in HD. The Swamp looks awesome. The player models look really good. I'm still getting used to the new presentation and the play calling interface is really different. The player controls and coaches cams have changed a bit. Hopefully they've gotten rid of the "cheese plays" this year.

The demo is pretty limited. You can't get a good feel for a football game w/ 1 minute quarters two teams and one stadium.

I was in for this purchase no matter what. But I'm encouraged by what's in the demo.

In what way was it terrible? Just curious, I thought it was fine.

Also "Madden better not..." or else what? Or else you'll buy the other NFL based game coming out on the 360...oh wait never mind. That's the problem w/ EA exclusivity even if it's terrible people will buy it.

14. having played a lot of madden 360 and having played every football game on every other system before that I will say that from this demo ncaa 07 still has a lot of the weaknesses that madden 360 had.

-[A] is still the main juke button, i still cant get over how terrible this is... the juking system in 06 was fine, these single button jukes (i know the analog stick has capability too but the triggers should juke) are trash

-the playcalling system is still TERRIBLE for live 1 on 1 games becuase you can always see exactally what play is being called unless you invis every time

-the graphics are good, but it still has huge anti-analising issues (jaggies on the edges) which i wish could have been fixed (i'm playing on a 24 inch LCD with native 1900x1200 res)

-to switch players on offense you have to hit B repeatedly instead of simply using the joystick... and that makes it impossible to cycle back and foward which makes it MUCH harder to set hot routes

but regardless, these are still nuances that wont really be a big deal to 9/10 people - but to a guy like me that will play this game for 500+ hours this is a bust

i will be buying the game on 360, and downloading it for ps2... hopefully the ps2 version doesn't steal my heart

15. As far as cycling between players, if you hold the B button and use the joystick in either direction you can cycle forwards and backwards through players.

The more you know.

16. @7 It is definately not the same game as the PS2/Xbox version. The PS2/Xbox versions play at a higher frame rate, have way better controls (no RT for turbo and A for juke stupidness), has a better playcalling menu, and is just much more fun to play.

The game is not bad, but it's still not as good as the previous generation versions. I don't get why EA doesn't just update the graphics on the old versions for the Xbox 360, instead of making a whole new game. I'd be perfectly fine with just a graphical update because everything that they have changed is for the worse.
