Attention couch Olympians, a brand new demo of -- ahem -- Beijing 2008 - The Official Game of the 2008 Olympic Games is now available on Marketplace. According to the dash details, as provided by our good buddy Major Nelson, there are 38 events in which to compete. All of them are guaranteed to "challenge a player's time, speed and co-ordination." Somehow, we get the feeling that a lot of button mashing and stick twirling will be involved. Still, if you think you've got it in you to best a digital Michael Phelps, give it a go.

Ironically I was literally just looking on a reatail site and saw this and thought to myself 'Considering this will have a price drop pretty soon I wouldn't mind a demo' - and what do you know, although I'm probably gonna hate it! Damn Button Mashing!!!

I have a huge blister on my thumb and on the top of my middle finger from where it rubs against the ridge of plastic underneath the stick when I flick it back and forth.

The retail game might have 38 events, but the demo only lets you play 3. THREE MEALSLY EVENTS!!! 100m dash, triple jump and hammer throw. No swimming, no gynmastics, no shooting, no nothing, except for events we could play in the old XBL Arcade game "Track and Field" Waste of a chance to really show off the game! Nice "job" gang. Wait to provide plenty of ammo for "what not to do in a demo" blog entry.
