Geometry Wars 2 retro evolves onto the XBLA
Available for an 800 Microsoft point purchase (or free trial) off the Xbox Live Arcade is Bizarre Creations' true Geometry Wars sequel ever so rightly named Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2. And even though this sequel costs twice as much as its predecessor, know that it's packed with much more content. Content like six game modes including Deadline, King, Evolved, Pacifism, Waves and Sequence as well as new enemies, new power-ups and up to four player local co-op all in native 1080p. It's nearly a complete GeoWars experience if not for the missing Xbox Live co-op support. Oh well, we'll have to do without. Enjoy and have fun attempting to unlock the game's rather difficult achievements.

Picked this up this morning, great stuff :). Im utterly addicted to attempting the pacifism 'wax off' achievement. I've came really close, but my controller keeps working against me and turning off mid-game since every battery in my house has decided it doesnt want to work today ;_;

I had the first one, it was good for its time but I played it enough that I have no interest in this one. Online coop wouldn't have hurt though.

Online co-op wouldn't work very well in Geometry Wars when you think about it. If there is even a little bit of lag in the game, it would be very hard to play well. Local co-op only makes sense in this case.

Looks the same.
Sounds the same.
Plays the same.
Cost two times as much as the last one with no online play.
I feel like people are taking crazy pills giving this game any kind of props.

RE > 2 > Galaxes > original.
GW2 is fun, but Retro Evoled is still the best IMO. The deadline, evolved and sequence modes are pretty good, but the rest of the modes are just okay.
The new graphics look a lot nicer, but makes it a lot more difficult to see things than in Galaxies or RE.
The acheivements are pretty well thought out for the game too. I only have one more left to get, and once I memorize more of sequence, it shouldn't be that hard.
